hi guys,

I found a great new website with PC, android and iphone support...for syncing files across multiple devices

Dropbox - Simplify your life

You put a folder on your PC or many PCs...
and an app on your android device (s)..
or Apple device(s)...

when you drop in any file or change any file on any device.. it is automatically synced up to the website and then synced to all other devices.

this means that you can always have important file with you at all times..
share files with anyone anywhere...

it is free to use on PC..
the android app is free..
the iphone app is $2.99
you get 2GBs storage free which is enough for most situations, but if you need more it is $10/month for 200GBs.

NO.. i am not affiliated with them..:) :D
but if I get referrals.. they will give me 250MB more to my storage..

thanks,
Dan

UPdate: someone just signed up.. and I got an extra 250mb free (so did they).. that is great!! thanKs

Normally, we would move this to the Applications forum - but if one of our trusted old hands like you didn't find this before, I think it's ok to leave this in the Lounge for a little while so others can get word of this.

And to drop a friendly ad for -

Android Applications - Android Forums

Android Media - Android Forums

All sorts of interesting gems in those areas - please check 'em out, gang! :) ;)

Dan, I removed your referral in the hopes that this doesn't turn into a referral thread. We have one already here: http://androidforums.com/android-ap...inus-referral-thread-only-post-them-here.html and you should drop your referral code there.

Couple things though. First is you should put it in your sig, that has been working wonders for me. Also check last couple pages of the referral thread. There is a promotion where if you add an .edu email to dropbox you get 500mb for every referral (and this is proactive for any referrals you already have), you get space by adding your twitter, facebook, and couple other things.

I'm sitting on 19gigs of free space after doing all the stuff. Pretty killer deal if you ask me. Dropbox has saved my rear end tons of times. Absolutely love dropbox, I have all my important documents in there, hell i create word docs in my dropbox for school so that every time i 'quick save' it syncs to the cloud

19gb.. killer!

how long have you had this service?

question: what happens if you have 4 sync devices... and one accidentally (kids playin on device) deletes the..
1. main folder
2. sub folders
3. the dropbox folder
4. uninstalls dropbox

Been using it for couple years. Sig is the best way to go for real. I got my girls referral in my sig now (mine is maxed out at 19gigs, and already maxed out my bosses dropbox, lol)

In dropbox's website there is a 'deleted files' section (forget exactly what it is called) that saves everything you delete for 30 days i believe.

edit: even if you uninstall dropbox all your files are still accessible via dropbox.com

There had been talks of a deal between HTC and dropbox, I thought for sure that meant dropbox preinstalled on my Rezound. No dice though, was supposed to get an extra 3gigs (to 5gigs) on HTC devices, or so i heard.

Long story short, I installed dropbox on my rezound and immediately got an extra 3gigs of space, now i have 22gigs (21.75)!! I love me some dropbox!

Have you DropBox users actually visited the DB forums? You would be amazed at what you can learn on the DB web site and forums if you dig about. Most users only touch the basic capabilities DB has to offer.

There are plugins and addons that greatly extend DB and many are listed on the DB Web Site.

For example, you can use DB to DL torrents, create and share photo galleries, sync iTunes across multiple computers, document version control, and host a web site server.

I use SendToDropbox.com to send files directly to my DropBox. Very cool stuff, that Dropbox.
