Not much traffic, how is the Electrify?

So, my wife and I are not due for new phones until February but we will have enough 'belief points' in 3 weeks and plan on upgrading from our HTC Desires which are constant out of space.

I think the one downside to upgrading now will be that LTE isnt rolling out until after the first of the year and we will be locking in to 3G phones but we also have no idea what they will offer once 4G rolls out.

Not much traffic in here, how is this phone selling and what if any issues have arisen?

(yes, I've been looking at the Photon area as well.)

Well, I've had mine since saturday: made the same move you and your wife are considering.

So far, I LOVE the Electrify. The only real issue I've noticed was with the Battery Life widget (which I used on my Desire): it did NOT like working on the electrify. Otherwise, no complaints. As for how it's selling...

I haven't seen any numbers. But every time I walk into the local store, there's been somebody buying one...

I've had mine since Thursday 10/6/11. The screen resolution is not as nice as the Samsung Mesmerize...that is a fact. But, the speed of apps, navigation and web pages opening up is truly "electrifying!" The fact that I could delete some of the pre-installed apps was/is nice. Call quality is very good. I will know more about signal strength in the next few days, as I will be traveling from Iowa to Chicago to northwest Arkansas and back to Iowa. That should be a pretty good test. And, so far, most importantly...it works. I have not had to do a battery pull yet. Fantastic. Especially compared to the Mesmerize, which was almost a daily battery pull until 2.3.4 came out.

I also bought a Motorola Roadster In-Car (Bluetooth) Speakerphone. So far, so good with it as well.

At this point...very pleased!

Well, having had it for a couple weeks now, I stand by my original assessment: I love it!

One (minor) problem I noticed: you can NOT use a clamshell case with the Motorola car dock. However, since the clamshell is super easy to remove, NOT a big deal.

Battery life is MUCH better than my Desire ever was. And the speed is awesome.

And honestly, I haven't noticed any major difference between this and my wife's Mesmerize...

I was wondering how the screen res would compare. The mez, hot mess though it can be, has a beautiful display.

Actually the Resolution of the display is higher than the Mes.

The problem is the PenTile Matrix they have used on the screen.. You can see a cross hatch effect on certain colors and the screen does also suffer from slight ghosting.

Brightness and vividness of the Display are nothing on the Mes that is for sure, but then again Samsung is the biggest LCD MFG in the world, and make some of the best LCD's too.

But where the PenTile Matrix shines is in outside in bright sunlight. You can still see the display, where as the Mes you had to crank the brightness way to max.

But I am in agreement, you WILL notice it going from a Mes to this...

LED Notifications: I should have mentioned this before. The Electrify has a great LED notification, very similar to my former BB Curve, on the front (upper right corner) of the phone. You can choose various colors and repeats for missed calls, messages, etc. Very nice. I'm still completely impressed with the phone!

Excellent. I like hearing people praise this phone. It makes the wait until I switch over more unbearable by the day.

Just 3 more days...

At: dixie_boysles: I use K9 Mail, and for each email account: menu>more>settings>account settings>notifications>blink LED & notification color. I use Easy Reminder for missed phone calls: Remind call>LED & LED color. I use Go SMS: menu>settings>notification settings>default notification settings>Blink LED/LED color.

Remember that I am using the Motorola Electrify now. Hope this helps.

I have had the phone since 11/3, so about a week now. I made the switch from Verizon to USCC due to lack of coverage in my area (SW Iowa). Before this phone I had a first generation droid. The speed of this phone is just amazing compared to the droid. I don't think you can go wrong getting this phone.

Welcome to the USCC community. :)

I am so excited as I get my Electrify today.

The anticipation is killing me. >.<

I just got my Electrify this past weekend. Played with it most of Sunday and am very pleased. My previous phone was the HTC Desire, which was a great phone, but absolutely terrible memory space. Battery life on the Electrify has been poor so far, but I've been on it constantly, so that's probably why.
Now searching the forums for ideas of what do add to the screens. I had a tough enough time filling 5 screens on the Desire (especially with the memory issues), so 7 on the Electrify will be a challenge!

The battery on the Electrify (in my opinion) is better than the Mesmerize. Of course, if you're playing on any smart phone for hours on end, it will drain the battery.

I cannot begin to describe how frustrated I was trying to find a way to reduce the amount of panels on the homescreen. I've always been happy with 3. Usually I'd go with no more than 1, but 3 is my max. So when I saw 7, I freaked. And no way to reduce it (yet) without having to install a custom UI (which I quickly uninstalled as it prevents use of the kickstand!).

Some of the Moto apps can be fun to use. Specially the Social Network.

Install LauncherPro and thank me later. It really makes the Electrify peppy as far as homescreen scrolling etc... AND you can reduce home screens down to 1 if you so want As for the kickstand, mine still worked, i just have to hit the "Home" button when its open for the clock to come on. But if I can get a better/faster home launcher at the cost of a clock when kickstand is open, im game
