Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

How often are you getting them? When? I have not experienced a random reboot (or any reboot I didn't do) in ages. Have you done a fresh install to make sure it isn't something related to that?

I agree - I haven't had a re-boot for several builds (I honestly can't remember for sure if I ever did have any, but I'm sure there was at least one:p).

I will say I shut my phone off every night, so maybe that's why I don't have any re-boots (cleaning memory out on a re-boot).

Is upgrading to this really worth it? Other than having gingerbread have you experienced any boost to the phone's performance?

I'm very interested in any difference in the battery draining time. My phone is already rooted and works at light speed. It never hangs. a Couple force closes a week. And I have rebooted it in weeks. So is it worth the jump or should I wait until its out of Beta???

Have you read through any of this post? I personally can get at LEAST 25 hrs out of a charge, if not more.

In my opinion it is completely worth it. My battery life is much better than what it was with stock. I usually go a full working day on a charge with many text messages, emails, some pandora, and some web surfing. Today for instance, I unplugged my phone at 11am and now I am at 60%. Note that this is with moderate use of what I listed above. If I only respond to text messages and don't surf the web I get an average drain of 2-3% per hour usually. I could care less about getting more than a day on a charge though because I have a smart phone for the reason of being able to do all the extra things. It seems pointless to avoid use of the phone for the sake of saving battery.

I think that CM7 is much better with customizations as well. The only way you will know is by testing it out yourself. If you don't like it you can easily flash back to what you have now... just make sure you back-up before you do anything.

Both performance is better and battery life. It is worth it. The only reason I wouldn't use this is for the graphics of MiUi. which happens to be CM7 based anyways.

Don't let the "beta" title fool you. This port is very stable. It's technically stable on the CM7 side, but only considered a beta on our side. This is because there's still some things not working (pretty much just HDMI out).

I had serious issues with the first 2 betas. My phone would reboot multiple times an hour amongst other things. The latest beta though is perfect. My phone hasn't rebooted at all in the week I've been using it.

I rooted my buddies HTC EVO last night and put official CM7 on it. After comparing the two builds of CM7 I can safely say tickerguys "Beta" is better (smoother and more stable)than the official stable release for the EVO.

Hi all.
Is anyone having an issue with voicemail notifications?

I just loaded this ROM earlier today and I got a couple of calls that I sent to voicemail because I was in a meeting.

I never got a notification until I actually checked my messages.
As soon as I dialed in the notification showed up.

Other than that I'm not having any issues with the ROM.

Thanks.

Google Open Sources Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich | TechCrunch

Hopefully somebody will pick up the mantle and get us some tasty ICS!:D

As far as this Tickerguy/Isaac CM7 build goes, my phone has been very stable for even most of the later alphas, and I haven't had any reboots since October 20th . I have had to reinstall a few apps from Titanium backup over the course of these betas, but I haven't done a full wipe since the first beta and these slight and insignificant things most likely have nothing to do with these builds.
The touch screen has become a touch dream compared to stock, and the responsiveness overall has been better than stock by far. If Isaac or someone can fix hdmi and the small other glitches (Youtube in portrait mode breaks up in part) then this Rom will be better from a-z from stock. I would love to try Miui except not into closed source so won't unless something major changes. Also, for what it's worth, every beta and most alphas of this build test 1,000 points higher (with similar settings) than stock on the quadrant tests.] I would only go back to stock if I needed hdmi badly and I don't.

Ice Cream Sandwich source uploading

So now the question is... how long will the CM team take to make a release and how hard will it be to modify TG's work on CM7 to make a build for Triumph? :) Should be a pretty fun couple of months coming up!

According to Cyanogen's Twitter, it's gonna take about 2 months. I really hope this will be ported to the Triumph:)

Unlike others, I am getting similar to slightly worse battery life performance. No idea why

The phone itself scores about 500 points higher on a Quadrant test. In real life usage, it's as fast as it always way, still suffers the occasional issue with the back button just stops responding for a few seconds. But it did that on stock too

The area of BIG improvement for was network performance. Holy hell, is CM7 WAY faster and more stable than stock. Like, night and day. On stock, speedtest would show me occasionally peaking at 700kbps down, and 250kbps up. Now I get 1700+kbps down and 500kbps up. Also, on stock my connection would occasionally kink out and require a flip to airplane mode to reconnect. Under CM7, I've never had to do that once.

(Not sure why or if it's a reason, but under stock, Speedtest showed my home server as out in Kansas (I'm in PA). Under CM7, Speedtest shows my home server as being in Philly.

Not sure if it's tied to the above, but the Market is also WAY faster than it was on stock.

So far, no real downside, other than the slight drop in battery life.

My friend who suffered from the flickering screen problem, installed CM7 and it fixed that for him.

I've added support for native WIFI tethering, but have not built to try it. If anyone is building CM7-Triumph from source, just repo sync and try it out.

Commit 1: https://github.com/ikarosdev/android_system_netd/commit/3867c5605ff463dd4738d1fd0edc8b57a1177cec

Commit 2: https://github.com/ikarosdev/androi...mmit/4ce98e5ab54e41e156a0171fc198e7b067546a15

I switched the kernel over to TG's last one so it should be current in the repos as well.

Excellent. I'll try it out tonight.

Wonder if there's any way to find out which app(s) crashes it. Mine reboots pretty often too. BTW I am using Go Launcher EX, wonder if you guys use that or not?

I can force a re-boot 100% of the time within thirty minutes. I'm sure it's a data problem, I can duo it with three different apps, but only one will do it in thirty minutes or less. don't have a computer cable so can't test it, but clean install of apps and cm7, if anyone wants to test and see if they can find it out more, let me know. I've has the problem since the first alpha
