***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I'm telling you guys, I get the feeling the whole mid-Dec thing is a ploy to either:

1.) make us elated when it's wrong, little misdirection fun at corporate HQ
2.) last minute effort to root out info leakers

ICS source code and the FCC drop within a day of each other? I really think this phone could land anytime. If they're revamping the OS, then why did Google release the ICS code in the first place? I'm not buying all this, I think we're getting the phone soon.

I still believe they are holding off the release so that Verizon can sell more of the Razrs and Rezounds because they need to get rid of stock and they also have financial obligations to HTC and especially Motorola now (you have to please the shareholders).

It isn't crying conspiracy and it isn't unsubstantiated.

Even Stevens source says that it isn't because of hardware or software issues:

Waiting on FCC maybe?

More news.

My co-worker came up to me yesterday and said that the date changed in their systems from 1/17 to 12/17. I'm not sure if that is more in line from what you've heard or not. I'll keep you updated if I hear any other changes on my end. Thanks for all of the information you posted on this release!

Saturday? Me thinkth this be a holder of place and not a true date of release.

There might be a problem with the 17th. I haven't heard anything official, and I'm even more out of the loop now that (************) , but I'm hearing that there are problems with possible delays into early to mid December. Nothing definite. But it has nothing to do with hardware issues. I've been told that it doesn't have anything to do with software issues either. If it was they would just release it early and do OTA updates like with the Bionic. Seems like it's more a "corporate" decision than anything else.

RAZR isn't an option in my opinion, but the Rezound is a great phone with a beautiful screen, in case people want to take advantage of the extended holiday return period while they wait for the Galaxy Nexus. Just be sure not to drop it, ha.

Sorry I couldn't bring you better news.

I was to the store and totally agree with The Source about the Razr for three reasons:

1) Sound quality
2) Screen resolution- screen text is crisper
3) Size- If feels smaller and narrower, easier to grip. There is more border around the Razr so it is wider and because it's thinner, it feels awkward in my hand.

I was surprised, but I preferred the Rezound to the Razor.

Is it typical for Verizon to carry accessories for a phone months ahead of release? I could see a week but a month? Especially with holiday season approaching you would think they would want the space for stuff they actually have for sale.

I know someone already posted it here but...
Galaxy Nexus inches ever closer to Verizon stores | Android Central

So we have phones en route to Verizon and they are going to sit on them for an entire month (based on Source #2's Dec. 17th)...ehh, I'm not buying it.

I should clarify that I'm not buying that actually being the day and like OTD said, it being a placeholder. Not doubting Steven's sources necessarily.
