I think I remember Isaac (or maybe it was Tickerguy) saying that he would most likely port CM9 when it comes out, not work straight from ICS source.

so we'll have to wait for CM9 first methinks

I'm curious about what needs to be done to get stock ICS on the triumph vs. waiting for Cyanogenmod and then the further inevitable port to triumph when they don't support it.

Does a new clockworkmod recovery have to be developed, or will the current recovery be able to flash ICS?

Will it be possible to switch out the kernel tickerguy and isaac worked on with CM7 and use it in ICS (since I believe radio and GPS are located there and have already been fixed for our device), or does the ICS kernel need to be modified with the various fixes that TG and isaac have already done?

Hopefully those questions aren't too moronic. I'm just curious to find out how much needs to be done. Maybe, too, whether it's even worth it...? Thanks.

maybe Virgin Mobile will surprise us by releasing ICS for the triumph on their own......yeah, I'm not holding my breath either.

We can build ICS, but that would involve porting/changing our 2.6 kernel to 3.0(alot of work, with just a few devs, not even fully experienced, while CM9 has a big dev team, WELL-Experienced). Then we will have to port some libs and drivers. Everything else past would be easy. That's why we might as well wait for CM9, because there porting 3.0 to 2.6, then we can take it from there.

It has ICS ports already(little working or 95% working), because there similar to the Galaxy Neux, and the dev team is great.

That's not true. Remember all those hacked SDK ports? For each device, they were using their original kernel. When I ported CM7 to the Ascend (which nobody thought would work), I used the original 2.6.29 kernel when Gingerbread was at 2.6.35.
