I know that I will never use WidgetLocker because in the short time that I had it installed, it completwly obliterated my battery life, because of the fact it has to CONSTANTLY run, 24/7, in order to function, so I would have to guess that that, not dvr, is destroying your battery life.

Is this UNIVERSALLY true...?? :eek::eek:
coz i'm using widegt locker and facing a bit more drain than usual, but never thought this was the reason..

I have found its battery use pretty minimal over the months I used it. But wouldn't any lock replacement take up some juice versus none at all? I suppose its a game of give and take, but I can't imagine not using an alternative lock app, much less one that is as versatile as WL.

adaaam apparently neglected to check his battery usage. I have been using both WidgetLocker and Desktop Visualizer together (among other things) for well over a year with much less battery drain than just one stupid Facebook widget.

If you're curious, check your usage (menu-> settings-> about phone-> battery-> battery use). It will tell you exactly what is using the battery.

And, of course WidgetLocker is going to run all the time... it's the lockscreen!

Hello everyone,

This is my first post, but may not be my last. I ordered my new Samsung 4G Epic Touch yesterday, and I'm very excited to be upgrading from my BlackBerry Curve. I have already started the mental process on what I'm going to do to modify the phone to be how I want it be. I'm working on my background now, and I love the idea of making my own icons. But I have sort of hit a snag...

Assuming I paint the icons onto my background and don't make physical icons, and use transparent icons over them (which I have already researched and know how to do), how do I know what size to make my painted icons on the background? Can I stretch the invisible icons to be whatever size I want? I feel like there is probably some sort of grid system I can't find any information about.

Second, I was planning on hiding the status bar across the top (because it really isn't needed), but if I do that, and I have made my own text message icon that is painted on and covered with an invisible icon, how will I know how many new texts I have? Is there a way to make the invisible icon invisible except for the cute little number that tells me how many texts I have? Or do you guys have any other advice?

Sorry if these were addressed earlier, I have read quite a bit of this thread and don't see anything about it, and searching the forum doesn't seem to bring anything up either. Thanks!

I am looking for 2 pics actually that can be used for my lock-screen. I apologize if I put this request in the wrong section.

First pic is the Android robot standing with an actual paddle-lock or some sort of lock for a locker.

Also, looking for the Android robot wearing anything San Francisco 49ers.

If anyone can help a dude out - much appreciated. ;)

I can't help you with the first one but, I remember seeing a 49er Andy wallpaper on Zedge.

Here, let me Google that for you:

From a Google image search for "android padlock":

From a Google image search for "android secure lock"

The 49r's one was not found online so far, but it could be custom-made (for a nominal fee)...
