Help Wifi required for download?

AFAIK there is currently no way to fool the wifi requirements for the Amazon Appstore. Some people have reported getting things to download by having wifi turned on (not connected) and using 4g but all the reports I have seen about that are people using sprint's wimax. I have tried the same with the bolt and it didn't work. If you can find a public wifi spot then you should be able to download it unless your wifi is broken completely then you can't really do anything.

Correct me if I am wrong but can't you save it to download later? I know I clicked it and it said saved. Someone chime in as I am sure Amazon is aware not everyone is in a Wi-Fi area. Plus when I first clicked it and it started downloading it said purchase complete.

If you click it to purchase it, it'll save for you to download later.

A remedy would be to find someone else with a rooted phone, have them enable their wireless tether, connect, download your software, and then return the favor....

Might want to make sure you are running a rom with wifi tethering that works.
"Thanks for letting me borrow your wifi man"
"No problem now can I tether from your phone"
"Yeah...um...about that...tethering on my rom is kinda...broken"

I actually took your advice, found a Wifi tethering app that actually works from 1 rom and saved it via Titanium backup, and then dumped it into my other rom. So far so good.

I know this is a year old so things have changed - and they have. I was able to download apps from the Amazon app store using my 4G connection - no wifi! I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S2. At first it gave me this same error as mentioned - that I need to connect via wifi in order to download the app, but just turn on 4G (no need to turn on wifi) and it should automatically start downloading.
