I am sure there are some of you guys who are hesitant to dish out 700-800 dollars to a non-corporation company that sells electronics through ebay or amazon. (... at least I was)

I just bought mine off of ebay from Techno Trading House. They also have an Amazon store and exist on facebook as well. Great reviews on both sites. They do have their own website too. (I forgot add: These guys are from USA.)

If you were leaning one way or another and was unsure, try these guys out. I looked around on other forums and people have been satisfied by what they get from them.

Just a little info about what I got.

The box was sealed (with the stickers) and apparently, I got the Hong Kong version because the website on the box was samsung.com/hk and there was initially some Chinese language when setting up the phone. There were two manuals ... one in English and the other in Chinese.

They threw in a US adaptor for free and they do have free shipping as well.

After downloading the new software (firmware) and rebooting, I was able to get 3G/HSPA+ signal. Before that, I was only getting phone capabilities and wifi. Freaked me out but it turned out fine.

I emailed them two or three times and they gave me a response every time within 12-24 hours. Not bad.

Most importantly, I ordered mine Saturday night and received it promptly on Wednesday afternoon, which was also the "estimated shipping date" that they put out so they were on-time.

I will update if I encounter any issues.

I also bought my Note from TTH. I haven't received it yet, still waiting on it to ship. They emailed me today and said they're currently waiting on their shipment to be released from Customs. Anyways, they said I should receive it Tuesday.

I have a question for you, what Software/Firmware did you download? Where did you get it?

Thanks!

The firmware download/update was automatic. It asked me if I wanted to update my software when I was setting up the phone. I didn't initially do it and I didn't get the 3G and H+ connection but had phone capabilities. So I went back and did the Software Update under Settings and it gave me 3G/H+ after rebooting.

I think the update was 2.3.6. If you let me know where to look, I can get it for you.

Btw, I am using AT&T in LA, California.

OK, thanks for the tip.

TTH said I'd receieve my phone by Tuesday. I'll keep everyone updated on my experience.

Did you'all previously had AT&T phones with sim cards or did you go get a at&t sim card plan? if so what plan did you get?
(I also bought one from them :) )

Thanks!

Yeah, I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 and Infuse 4G before that.

I just transferred over my sim card and inserted it.

I have the old plan that's unlimited data/text.

But... since they don't have it anymore... you should just get the 2GB data plan. It should be enough unless you download like crazy on 3G or H+ connection.

I have a gs2 right now with the unlimited plan. So I should be ready.

Hi All, Just ordered mine. :) I am hoping every one is well and their phones are Ok. Ryan?
Also just wondering if this phone comes with any type of cover that I saw some versions have? Lastly i see that TTH partners with CPS for extended warranty protection. I would normally not purchase extended warranties but then I have never bought a 700 phone and originating out of the country as well. Any one have any input if CPS is good and if getting the extended warranty is prudent?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone here happen to have ordered it from Canada and care to share the experience?
I am really interested in buying this phone and for my mental health, I think it is better off buying it abroad than waiting for canadian carriers to get this. I see that it will cost me 700 for the phone and 70 for shipping from TTH but it doesn't seem to include any tax and duties and what not.
I am ok with paying 800 in canadian dollar but i have a feeling converting usd 770 to CDN plus tax, etc will be close or over 900.

And also, this extended warranty they let us choose, i am hoping that this means there is original warranty that comes with the phone. In that case, how long is the warranty coverage and what are the conditions? (us only or international? accident coverage?)

Thanks for your help!

Ryan - when you get your new Note phone you will need to go into "settings", then "wireless and network", then "mobile networks", then "access point names" then click on the lower part of the left screen for MENU then Click on "new apn" and fill out the below information. Be sure to restart the phone 2 to 3 times pulling out the battery and the sim card each time and then your phone will have access to the AT&T system. I hope this helps avoiding the frustration I experienced.

By the way, I purchased my Note from www.NewEgg.com and payed the $3.95 2nd day shipping price and had it within 2 days. My Note was shipped with a European to US adapter...which you will need. if you are going to buy this phone be sure not to wait on ordering a case. I am still waiting on my case that I had to order from Europe. This phone is unbelievably thin and the screen is beautiful beyond words, the battery life is getting me through a good 1 1/2 to 2 days of constant business use.

Update: I am the OP of the thread so just putting an update.

It's been close to 2 weeks with the phone. No issues at all.

The camera (w/ or w/o flash) is actually pretty good. I have been getting a lot of good pictures of friends/family as well as my dog. The shutter is way faster than the Infuse (which was painfully slow) and I feel like it's a tad bit faster than the S2 too.

The screen is very responsive and the stylus is allowing me to draw a lot of stuff on there. It's a bit off but hopefully they will update the software with some calibration settings.

I have been pretty careful. Bought a case from ebay and it fit perfectly. No scratches or damage yet. *knock on wood* Still waiting on my screen protector.

GPS is definitely faster and easier to see on that big screen.

Battery life is decent. Definitely better than it's predecessors (Infuse 4G and Galaxy S2).

I am in love with the phone.

mightymoose02, Can I ask what cover and screen protector you got? I'm really having problems deciding on one. Did you get the extended warranty? I'm expecting the note to arrive in a few days and can't wait...

No problem.

I did not get any kind of warranty or insurance. I don't think you really need one. If there are issues with electronics, they usually occur within the first week or two.

I can't say much about the screen protector because it hasn't arrived yet. I decided to just get one of those cheaper ones that you can just stick it on quickly without using any kind of solution (i.e. Invisishield ZAGG). I don't like how the screen looks and feels after one of those are placed on my smartphones.

But my case is a perfect fit. I bought it on ebay.

That thread has other options as well. My post is on the bottom with the exact title of the item and the seller's name on ebay.

I believe FoneM8 was the maker.

Btw, both screen protector and case was from the same guy.

Hi everyone.
Last month I bought a Galaxy Note (International Unlocked Version) from Techno Trading House.
Before the phone arrive I switched to AT&T GoPhone from another provider. Once I received my Note
I plug in my sim into Note and everything working fine including data. This phone says "Made By Samsung".
Then I bought another Galaxy Note for my wife from Techno Trading House. She also switched to AT&T GoPhone
from another provider. Her Phone says "Made in Korea by Samsung". I plug in the AT&T sim into her Galaxy Note
and set up the apn exactly like my Galaxy Note.
The problem is data does not work on her Note. First I suspect it must be something to do with her sim so I
tried her sim on my galaxy note and its work perfect. Then I tried my sim on her Note, same problem the data not working.
I got 3G and H signals on the Note but when I open speedtest.net app, 7 out of 10 times it will "Force Close" when its try to
find closest server. The other 3 times when I tap "Begin Test" it will say "Network Communication Issue", "Try Again".
I also tested using Dolphin browser and weather app, but no data.

The only different I could see between this 2 phones is my phone say "Made by Samsung" (working perfectly) and "Made in Korea by Samsung"
(data not working).
Is anyone here having similiar problem? Or is anyone having Note which says "Made in Korea by Samsung"?

I use exactly same apn as stated in this forum and like Hd2001glide said i restarted the phone more than 5 times, each times unplug the sim and battery but still no luck.

I do see 3G,H and H+ signal sign alternately on the phone. It just no data connection.

I tested using speedtest.net app, dolphin browser, stock browser and also weather app. None of those working.
