This is actually kind of an anti-Tip, so I just categorized it as General.

As much as I love Google Music, what they don't seem to tell you anywhere (and I didn't think about until I downloaded today's free song *Bowie!*) is that you can't take music out of Google Music. There appear to be some ways (ok, at least one way - JRT Studio: How To Sync Google Music Back To iTunes Using iSyncr) to sneak in and extract the song, but it will be reportedly stripped of all data.

Geez, Google! At least I can put Amazon music into iTunes, and iTunes music into Google Music.

Sure you can!

Go into Google Music on the web (on a PC browser). Click on the automatic playlist "Free and purchased". This will list the songs that you have purchased (or added to the library for free).

Click, shift-click, ctrl/cmd-click to highlight all of the songs that you want to download. There is a small triangle control on that is exposed when you point to the right-hand side of the "Name" field of one of the selected songs. Click it, and a menu pops up. There is a link "Save to computer" that will download to your computer (and you can choose to put them in the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder in your iTunes library folder.)

I believe that there is a restriction that you can only download a song two times using this method. However, there is also a "Music Manager" app that will have the ability to automatically download songs that you add to your library after you purchase them, though this particular feature does not seem to be working on the Mac client at the moment (the automatic upload of music from your iTunes library has been working for a while, however.)

As of right now, the Music Manager can now download purchased music automatically. You can specify where to store files as well.

It should be here: https://music.google.com/music/listen?u=0#manager_pl
