Ive had my razr for 2 days now and have noticed that the power button is rather difficult to press. it doesn't always give a noticeable click and sometimes i find myself having to press it a few times to get it right. It just doesnt feel like a high quality button depress like it should.

anybody else experience this?

thanks

For me I have to use the end of my fore finger to press the power button to turn the screen on and that is without a case. But with the Otterbox sometimes I have to press it twice because the button is covered. I did notice on mine that the button is almost flush with the side of the phone but not quiete where I can still feel the edge of the button.

I think the power button on the Razr is one of the worst designs to date! It stinks is a good way of describing it. How can such a well made device come with such a loose, shaky, poorly designed power button? I must say....Samsung is the only company I know of that gets it right!

Moto just can't get it right, most of they're power buttons are metal, and have too much wiggle room, and become some what loose over time.

And HTC's power buttons are always, and I mean always sunken in to the body of the device making it to flush to really even know u pressed it.

$650 phones shouldn't have any parts that wiggle...case closed!

Probably my only complaint to date. Should have been imbedded into a raised crater like the original Droid... that button never wiggled.

On the other hand, I've never gotten the impression that the button did not work upon pressing. It just feels cheap.

Exactly ....it works! But feels extremely cheap...., and this phone wasn't cheap at all..

Definately one of my few gripes about this phone. What were they thinking when they designed this thing like that? Flimsy buttons? Whoever said Sammy has it right is right on. The T Mo GS2 has very nice, stable push buttons. Moto can't figure that out?!? Makes one wonder who is in control of design on these things....

It also varies from unit to unit! I had 2 so far, and both were wobbly, one more then the other! Meanwhile my Lady's is pretty rock solid with hardly any movement at all. These are the things I hate about getting a new phone, I for one have grown tired of going through 10 phones to find the perfect one!

Wow, I love the phone so far, had a Droid X before...just was concerned on why my volume button wiggled so much...I mean A LOT...so I have nothing to worry about sean76? I mean it wiggles to the point that it feels like its gonna come off...lol so that HUGE wiggling is normal? I'm just OCD with my electronics lol

I've gone through 3 units...

Various issues...one had blotches on the screen....another had a terrible rattle noise over peoples voices while on the phone....3rd, knock on wood is looking like the keeper....lol

First 2 had fairly wiggly power buttons, 3rd is better, but it still slightly wiggles, and will most likely over time loosen up a bit more!

IMO....A design mishap by Motorola! I too have OCD, and stuff like this annoys the crap out of me...

Blotches popped up and were noticeable in an all black screen...

Rattle was so annoying while on a call!

Thankfully all good so far with new one ...

I lucked out with mine I guess, but trying to figure why the Razr likes to lock in more than not on 1.2GHz after watching local video or card swaps.

Takes a reboot or force stop in battery tasks to kill media tasks. Stock tasks.

This is a SERIOUS Razr issue, and is just about to pop out of control in the media. I've gone through 3 (three) Droid Razr's over this issue in just the last 7 days. The first one the up/down buttons were rendered useless. 45 lbs of squeeze pressure could not trigger the button. The second unit, the down button would stick into the phone and not come out. The third unit (just replaced today) the power button needs a chisel and a hammer to get it to work, but the up/down buttons work ok with the slightest, most comfortable touch.

I give up, Motorola. If THATs all the QA you can muster in Taiwan after spending your wad on $mils in TV ads, then you don't need my biz. Nor my family, nor my business. There's 41 phones that'll go to Samsung.

Getting a Samsung back in my hands was just enlightening. And the buttons are large and tactile responsive enough for your fingers to find them, and they actually move when pressed - not a glued-in stuck feeling like the Razr. And then of course there's the Samsung screen. It just BLOWS away the Razr's screen. Mot has put large black bezels all around the edge of the screen to try to hide the fact they stuck a way-too-small screen in the Razr. The Samsung Infuse, on the other hand, is the exact same size as the Razr, but the screen is 40% larger and bleeds edge-edge. GO FIGURE. Then there's the battery thing. Gezz

Nah, they blew it. It is quick though. But still unusable. Back it goes, I'll put up with Samsung over this mess anyday

If you guys think the power & volume rockers are bad on the Razr, check out those same switches on the Rezound! I've got the Rezound (for now) and find those switches an absolute abortion.

In an effort to make these switches flush with the phone, you wind up being unable to even feel where the switches are! I've played with the Razr and its switches are far better than the Rezound's.
