Power/sleep button recessed on Eris

Anybody out there see what I'm seeing? It seems as if the power/sleep button is a bit more recessed than the phone/talk button that pops out a little more. Could this just be from heavier use since I am always hitting the sleep button after phone use? Or, is this a HTC design to prevent you from hitting the button as easily. Not really a huge difference here just enough to feel if you run your finger over both of them. Wondering if it will get lower over time?

Both my buttons are flush with the level of each other. So I am thinking it's from heavy use of the buttons. It's only little rubber nubs keeping it suspended over the actual button on the circuit board. So it has probably started losing it's 'jump-back' effect as I call it.

Yep, my power button is more recessed too. I've only had the phone a couple weeks so I doubt it's from heavy use.

Same here, when I go to get my phone replaced for the blown speaker. I have hopes to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Mine seem to be about the same and not recessed. I got mine mid-November.

My end button is more recessed than the day I got it. It's starting to get annoying. It's almost to the point of being less than recessed, like it's right at or slightly below the phone surface.

Hey Caddyman if your out there, once you have taken the Eris apart, could you post some pics of underneath the buttons? Maybe there is a fix for this. Thanks in advance. Otherwise I don't mind living with it as long as they don't sink below the faceplate.

I noticed that they were a little uneven when I first got the device; the phone button raised slightly higher than the other one.

Nothing has changed, the lower one on the right remains exactly where it was, as does the other one.

Mine's like that also, the sleep button is lower on the trackball side of it. It still works fine, I'm very OCD about stuff like that, IDK if I should take it for warranty or just let it ride.
