Yes...the wait is getting very old indeed! I am in need of a Family Plan when switching to Verizon so it's not exactly a cheap prospect to get the N1. With that said, after seeing the N1 in person it actually exceeded my expectations with regard to being attractive. I think I expected it to be black....but if you look closely it's more of a really dark champagne color...or darker gray. The Incredible looks ugly to me...but seems to be what I've been holding out for before jumping into the game. I would sure love for a June release date to be wrong as I made a promise to my wife...that we will have smart phones by the end of May. So...it looks like the N1 for both of us...and the price for two of them will really hurt.

From many of the rumors I have seen, most think it will be towards the beginning of spring. (March/April) BUT youre right. It could be anytime up until June. No way to know until official news comes out. I think your gut feeling is right unfortunately. So the Incredible might be the phone for me by choice and/or default.

yup, good points. well i guess that means we'll all be waiting together!

I don't think I missed this, but when do people think the N1 will even come out?

I had read Spring, and technically spring runs from 3/21 to 6/21, so I don't think it is a given that it will be out much earlier than the Incredible even if that date is true.

Also, I don't think N1 will be eligible for upgrade or family plan, but that is just a gut feeling.

Who is Leo Laporte? Apparently those 3/23 VZV N1 rumors originated from him.

In fact @gruber, I predict that when the Nexus One becomes available on Verizon (3/23/2010?) even you will want one. 6:21 PM Jan 16th from web

well, then when the incredible comes out, i'll either sell the N1 or buy the incredible and keep the N1 as a back up.... I have 2 upgrades burning a hole in my pocket... we'll see...

i'll have to do some more investigating on the N1 interface... dont get me wrong, I think even with that potentially ugly back, I prefer the incredible, but the wait is getting old...

Even if you haven't had a phone for 2 years, upgrades don't collect; you only get 1. :(

Wow, June would be a complete failure on Verizon's part, but haven't they always been about being late to the game? The Droid seems to be the exception to the rule now, and not a change in direction. If the Incredible comes out in June, that'll be the end of 1H/Q2 2010, and seemingly a boatload of phones are due out in the first half of the year on other carriers. AT&T was supposed to be getting a number of Android phones by the end of June, probably the Bravo, N1, Legend, X10, and Droid/Milestone. Verizon? The Devour, Saygus Vphone and, if this report is true, the Incredible at the last minute. Ugh. At least we have the N1, and hopefully that'll be coming as early as rumored.

Here is a comparision of the Incredible and N1 from the website DaveyDog gave us PDAcomparer | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of PDA, PDA Phone, Smartphone, PNA & Mobile Device Specifications It is nice to see the specs next to each other. I think either phone will be good for me...just hope the new Verizon N1 has multitouch worked out through out all of the phone functions!

You will notice they have the N1 release in April and Incredible in June (as we know). I just hope the announcements this week in Barcelona from Verizon has both of these phones coming sooner!

As for N1 with a family plan on Verizon (as CameronCrazy mentioned), yesterday when I was speaking with Verizon, the manager there wouldn't give me much info about it, but did say he is fairly confident that it would be on a family plan and have more flexibility with servicing of the device than that with T-Mobile. His reason was that Apple keeps everything with the iPhone close to them and because of that Verizon decided to hold off on taking on the iPhone (I had know idea the iPhone was/is that close to be on Verizon)...also, how much can this one store manager know about what Corporate Verizon is and isn't doing? I will let others decided, I am just passing on the information.

The wait is killing me! I love my HTC Touch, but the touch screen has been getting worse and worse with the black spots of death!

It seems that all of our incredible dreams (pun intended) are being shattered.

I heard THAT, Ruben!

Well, DAMN!!! Looks like I'll be getting the N1 as well as I have GOT to have my new smartphone prior to May. Due to work, I have zero options to wait any longer than that. With that said, let me serve this up to all of you - The biggest N1 deterrent for me is that there will be no after-the-sale support aside from Google's. Do you think that that concern of mine is well-founded? Or is it just in my head?

I realize that this is the Incredible thread and I won't belabor this point, but since my Incredible plan seems to be going south for me in a hurry, I would appreciate any concise input you all might have. This thread seems to have attracted some of the brightest and most informed people in the Forums.

No, I think it is founded. Most likely if you have an issue with the phone and it is to the point where you need a replacement, you will probably have to mail it to Google and be without a phone for a few days.

I could be wrong, but that is how it is with T-Mobile and I would guess will be with Verizon.

I literally could not agree with you more about your concern. The way everything is set up, seems terrible to me. I have heard this is how the first iphone went as well and look at them now, but there is still cause for concern. I do not have a N1 but I have looked thoroughly through Google's official forums to take a look at what kind of problems people are having, things they dislike, and things they enjoy. When there is a problem, more times than not, there is no answer for these frustrated people! What are they supposed to do? The situation is in no way ideal; unless everything has gone perfectly with your phone but as a phone carrier, you cannot expect that.
In respect to this thread, its one of the main reasons I want to see how the Incredible plays out as far as a date of release and support.

AT&T getting Droid/Milestone, Nexus, Bravo...!

I think you are getting carried away. AT&T aren't just going to get the best of Android like that.

Carried away? Nexus One has gone through the FCC. Milestone...through the FCC. X10...through the FCC. All with AT&T bands. I forgot to add, the Dell Mini as another possibility. I'm not making this up. AT&T said it:
AT&T Android Phones From Dell, HTC and Motorola Coming Soon! | Android Phone Fans
All in the 1H of 2010. Hard to deny that it's about to get pretty crowded in the smartphone market real soon, including for Android. The Incredible showing up in June would be like that guy who shows up at the party two hours late when everyone is drunk, doesn't notice, and doesn't really care.

Does anyone know how they got all of this info? The camera megapixels, etc.?

Also, daveydog read this: Rooting - is it for me? Some Q&A | Android Central
There isn't much risk in rooting, just flashing ROMs. You have to do your research on ROMs. Once you hear good stuff about it, flash it and you'll be on your happy way. :)

I think they are safe guessing. The lowest RAM the Incredible will have is 256. The lowest camera it would have is 5mp, etc.
I just dont think June is credible but hopefully after tuesday I'll know.
