Help S2 camera issues

I'm pretty much satisfied with the S2, but the camera is rubbish. In dark environments (parties, concerts) it's pictures are MUCH worse than those taken by friends with different phones, but there's one issue that really worries me.

Sometimes when I switch on the camera, it starts to vibrate slightly, and the images of the picture are misshaped. Straight lines are bent, and edges are out of focus. Sometimes even the whole picture is messed up - this is my best/worst example: De camera van een Galaxy S2 doet af en toe nogal vreemd.

Does anyone recognise this and/or know a solution?

I have a feeling you will be on your own here. I love the camera. I cant believe how fast it is and how excellent the quality is of the filming.

anyone else notice it looks identical to the iphone camera set up???

That's pretty bad. Almost looks like an effect has been added to the picture.

What firmware version are you running?

That's what I thought, so I uninstalled all the camera/picture apps, but that didn't help. But it's also there when the camera is trying to focus, like heat above an asphalt road.

I updated to Android 2.3.3 today, but the problem's still there.

I'd say that's a hardware fault. I've never seen anything like it in years of photography, other than by image manipulation e.g. using Photoshop. It appears more pronounced towards the left but even centre-frame, where image quality should be best, is whacked. I'm guessing a lens element is out of alignment.... return it to the retailer.
