***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Of course it's a ludicrous statement. I'm known for those.

And sorry, once the Windsock spewed his garbage about problems with Samsung resulting in Verizon not carrying the Nexus, and then Verizon announcing it the very next day, that was it.

He revealed himself as an idiot that just throws stabs in the dark and once in a while he gets lucky. He's good as a dev; he should stick to that and let the real insiders deal with dates.

His tweets in the 48 hours before Verizon announced:

He's a douche and an attention whore.

Again, sorry- I don't see anything there where he said "its not coming to VZW" all looks like speculation to me.

You can not like the way he presents himself. Hell, I think he comes off as a jerk needlessly at times, but I have never seen him report anything as fact. And in some of those tweets where he appears like he's making a fact I can clearly hear a mocking tone when I read it- So I discount it. I don't read it as fact. Just like everyone else who's been releasing info.

"Now for all of you telling me: But they have a trailer, and a video..Until its announced by VZW, that all means squat. Phones get cancelled"

Yeah, they do. And the point he made was one I agree with- until VZW makes this public, you cannot rule out any endgame from them.

We can agree to disagree on the P3 issue. He's a jerk sure, but he's been no more/less accurate than any other source in my eyes.

edit: PLUS hes NOT the source. Its coming to him second hand. The reader need to know that and consider it when they make the decision to believe whats coming out of his mouth. Those that flocked and believed him from the get go only have themselves to blame for their frustration on the matter.

I keep seeing comments about the GPS in Samsung phones, typically focusing on the Galaxy S. I have tended to discount them based on the explanation on an article on The Verge here about the Google-Skyhook Wireless matter. As I understand the article, Google forced Motorola and Samsung to stop using Skyhook's XPS positioning service. In a section of the page headed Google deals with Samsung, the article states:
Nilay Patel on The Verge said:
The Galaxy S line shipped in the US in July, presumably with updated and Google-approved software, and was immediately beset by GPS-related issues. Chris Ziegler identified two separate issues at the time: first, WiFi positioning was turned off by default, allegedly at Google's insistence, and second, the straight-up GPS system in the phone was working improperly. It's hard not to see these problems as a direct result of Samsung taking XPS out of the software at the last minute -- particularly the disabled WiFi positioning.
Based on the article and the sentence that I bolded, I have figured that the Galaxy S GPS problem was simply an artifact of this late change forced by Google and thus that this particular problem would not say much about the future. However, the continued concern about the issue makes me wonder whether I misinterpreted the article (which, admittedly, I moved through rather quickly).

Is anyone else familiar with this article or situation? Does the article "ring right"? If so, do we have any other reason to suspect problems with GPS in current Samsung phones?

To be fair the Nexus S devices that I've had (2x i9020t and 1x NS4G, also manufactured by Samsung) have suffered zero issues with GPS running AOSP based roms.

What odds are greater? Getting struck my lightening or winning the lotto? I dont know so I'm just gunna go with lotto...

There is a better chance of someone winning the MegaMillions / Powerball then us seeing an announcement tomorrow.

(on a side note, I've been nearly struck by lightening. It hit the tree I was standing under.)

How can you be so sure we won't see something tomorrow? I'm waiting for Verizon to surprise me :D

Guys, I'm not going to discuss the Cutler issue or the Windsock-stupid-idiot-attention-whore-moron-loser-douche any more. I don't like going to bed angry.

This Jets/Eagles game is turning out to be good!

My sister says that she is going to ask around tomorrow at work to see if anything has changed, and will let me know during her lunch hour.

Aw being a charger fan is great just for this moment.

I went to NC State. The Rivers years were amazing. He was an absolute stud. Had he gone to a school with a legit football team he probably would have won a NC. To be honest I hope Rivers gets fed up with Turner and Dan Snyder finds a way to lure him back to the East Coast. I need my skins to be relevant again.

I don't want to start an argument and make the mods angry, especially since I am new here, but come on.

From now until the end of the year, every week, I can post on multiple boards, twitter, facebook, hell even myspace, friendster, and xanga....and say things like, "Hey guys, so my inside source tells me this..." and then in a few days say, "VZW doesnt know what its doing..." implying that things have changed, and then say, "guys shipments are incoming...". It's NOT difficult to troll and post false info. And especially when he says things once every 2-3 days that contradict everything else he's ever said, it's easy to pull a date of your ass and eventually be proven right.

Like Hans said, he should shut his mouth and stick to developing. I'm happy for him that he has buddies that can get him pre-release devices, I really am. He's honestly the dude in high school that would spread rumors about your girlfriend because his sister is friends with a girl who slept over her house one time. It's childish, petty, and helps no one out.

You mean the Giants/Eagles game? :p

Han, I love Chicago. My wife has family there, I have family there. We go there 2-3 times a year. I just hate all of your sport teams. :D

I find it a tremendous double standard that we are told about zero tolerance for name calling, belligerent posts and yet we are allowed to call someone outside of the forum everything under the sun.

I say lighten up on the name calling. "Windsock","attention-whore", etc. have no place here. We get it you don't think he's reliable.

I don't follow P3Droid nor have I ever gone to his Twitter page. In fact, if it were not for the folks here talking about him I'd never know he exists. All I do know is this forum is not the place for name calling, allegedly. And how there has been no hand slapping for this behavior by this time is beyond me.
