***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Thanks for these images -- look legit enough for me.

Just changed the countdown widget on my phone to 12/8 (unwillingly, but I did it).

Can we have Steven, Rob or Phases put a 12/8 countdown back in the OP, maybe?

Stigy, please tell me that you weren't one of the people here who thought the screen shot leaked the other day regarding 12/8 looked fake? This looks to be an exact match to that document. Perhaps not the SAME document, but the same document type.

For those who DID judge the original image stating 12/8 bogus; what say you about these at this point? Just curious. I am no longer emotionally invested in this phone or what any "sources" have to say. I'll continue to hang around in here though, because I still plan to purchase this phone when it finally does become available. You guys are better than pay-per-view ;) And still the best location for gathering all pertinent information from across the web regarding this phone. Who needs Google search when you have this thread!

So on happier topics, when we do get the GNex, what is the first thing you are going to do with it.

Make a phone call, browse web, pictures, use it to iron your wrinkely shirt after waiting in front of the store for 3 days?

Posting something on AndroidForums.com. :)

I have to say... as much as I love VZW's network... I have seriously thought about buying this phone at full price, and start switching to the death star.... I am just plain tired of no communication from a communication company....

Will I actually do it.... not sure!

Jeez, Verizon just can't win, can they?

They don't specify a release date, because they don't know it yet. Reaction: JUST TELL US THE DATE! I HATE VERIZON!

They want to test the phone to ensure, to the best of their ability, that the LTE version works correctly on their network. Reaction: STOP DELAYING! I HATE VERIZON!

When people demand more information, they respond to inquiries by saying "We haven't determined the date yet, and we want to make sure the phone works right before we release it." Reaction: THEY'RE LYING! I HATE VERIZON!

Suppose they had announced it and then had to miss it -- which is exactly what would have happened if they'd announced 11/17 or 11/21 -- the reaction would have been STOP LYING TO US! I HATE VERIZON!

If they just went ahead and released the phone now, which is what so many people seem to want for some reason, the reaction would be THIS PHONE IS A BUGGY PIECE OF CRAP! I HATE VERIZON!

Apparently, there is literally nothing they can do that won't anger people. Is it any surprise that they continue to ignore the complaints? I would.

Here's an experiment. Seriously, everybody try this:

For just a moment, try assuming that Verizon is not evil or incompetent. Assume that they actually want to release the phone and sell it, and that they are working as hard as they can to get the phone to us, taking into account all of the complicated factors they have to worry about. Assume that they will release it as soon as they possibly can -- after all, at the moment it is only costing them money -- and they will tell us as soon as they know when that will be.

Try thinking positive thoughts: "Wow, too bad there are bugs, but I'm glad Verizon found them. I'm going to hope that their people find a solution quickly."

Yes, we're all frustrated and disappointed that the Galaxy Nexus isn't out already. But maybe, just maybe, it's nobody's fault.

i understand the rationale, and i also am one who doesn't believe that hating on VZW (even if deserved) is worthwhile. BUT, here is where i think your reasoning breaks down: EVERYONE who has reviewed this device has not given any indication of technical difficulties. by all accounts, and from all the info we have, this device is ready to go. rather, the info that is coming out (albeit from anonymous sources, but it's still info) is that the "technical issues" are being caused by VZW, itself!! in other words, the phone isn't coming out yet because VZW is trying to take a Nexus, and make it not-quite-a-Nexus by adding VZW apps - which, in turn, is causing "technical issues."

by way of example, lets assume you have leased a car, and your lease is about to expire. the new model of your car has been released by the manufacturer in Europe and other countries, with no issues. but, here in the US, the exclusive dealer for your auto (which has formally announced that it will be selling the vehicle) wants to put on some after-market add-ons, to promote the dealership. these add-ons don't make the vehicle more efficient, run better, or worth more - in fact, most of the people waiting for the auto don't want the add-ons. however, these dealer add-ons are causing problems with the car, and the dealer is telling you that you will have to wait for a few more weeks while it sorts out these "technical issues."

now, are you saying there's no reason whatsoever to be upset with that set of circumstances?!

I think the correct answer here is that I would download the phandroid app right? :D

I second that - my first install will be the Phandroid app and a post.

I've been too busy at work and just caught up. I get news in at the weirdest times and have to edit out personal stuff from The Source, who is now my friend. My friend trusts me to edit out personal stuff.

If I'm at work or if I'm driving I can't edit, but I feel you should know, especially since folks are always asking me for info both here and in inbox. So I tell you when info hits my inbox. I am self-employed and very, very busy. So I post what and when I can.

I apologize for any hardship or inconvenience this causes.
