***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Hi, everybody.

I just came back from Costco, having gone there just to talk to the VZW people. They (she) said that they definitely should have the Nexus on launch day. She also said... wait for it...

...that her manager was on a conference call today and when he got off he said the Nexus wouldn't be released until December. Let's hope for the 8th.

Now, I know that's not news to anybody following this thread (to the extent anyone can really keep up) but I thought I'd report it anyhow.

Regarding Rob's questions:

1. End of year is OK by me. I guess I'll just have to be patient and nursemaid my OG Droid until then.

2. I'm all for more open communication, even if they name a date and then come back and have to delay it because of problems.

3. In my dotage, I forgot question number 3.

Awesome. I shall be getting it at costco as well. I also asked the rep in the store, said they should have the accessory deals as well.

1. I wasn't aware that VZW had announced the phone. I get my info from here. lol.

2. VZW has already shown they are capable of botching a product launch. Changing the name would be, at best, a floater in a large kettle of poop soup.

Note that I am not necessarily advocating that I think my theory is right. At this point, I'm trying hard to adopt the attitude that when it drops, it drops. I no longer think anyone knows, as it seems the VZW suits keep flip-flopping on the release date.

Post #1 is constantly updated with the latest information. Part of that is a link to the Verizon announcement (states a release this year). In it, they give the name and specs of the handset.

While as much as I like the Prime name, it will be called the Galaxy Nexus.

That is an interesting question. I think it's a micro SIM, but not sure how that all works out. I know its a little more difficult than a standard GSM phone, because it still has an ESN for the CDMA portion of the phone, and that needs to get updated in Verizon's system.

Don't think you can just swap SIMs and be good to go.

The way I understand it is that the SIM card only works for the 4G LTE radio. CDMA is completely separate and still does not need/use a SIM card.

Goodnight all. Hoping for some good nexus news tomorrow. 32 GB was enough to make me happy for today.

Those who got responses from execs, did it come back as a canned email with a link? I received something tonight that came back with contact info for someone to call tomorrow. The email heading is "Executive Complaint to Verizon Wireless".

I certainly didn't file any kind of complaint, just inquired about the release date, end of DD promo, and explained my situation as I am coming over from an AT&T unlimited plan and do not want to miss out on the promo.

Anyway, just curious about what kind of response you all receive. I'll call them tomorrow and let you all know if there is anything of consequence.
