Root HTC Rezound (Verizon WWE) - CRC - 2.6.35 kernel source code**Released

So I'm waffling between the Rezound and the Nexus. On Verge, I recently read that the Rezound does not currently offer an unlocked bootloader, but this thread seems to suggest otherwise. Can someone clarify the bootloader is/will be unlocked on the Rezound and what the development forecast is for this device? Once the two phones are rooted, most of the "cons" seem to vanish...

this thread just states that the Source code has been released which is a good thing for future modding of this phone.

currently there is no Perm Root or S-Off. It is being worked on.

There is a list of Known Devs that have made the jump to this phone which will be good for the community.

the bootloader is locked, and it appears HTC will not be allowing people to unlock it via their unlock site (you can probably thank VZW for that)

however hopefully soon someone will figure out how to crack it open. I would assume either Unrevoked or AlphaRevX.

hope that answers your questions.

Any hope or action on a perm root? I am actually considering returning my Rezound and buying a refurbed Thunderbolt. I loved my T-Bolt, the screen was wider, felt better in my hand, and was lightning fast (pun excused?). I upgraded to the Rezound and gave my T-Bolt to my wife, because I wanted to future-proof with the screaming dual-core. The Nexus looks like it will release this week, with immediate root... but no SD, and crappy camera performance make me think that isn't the way to go either... especially since it will have the same screen width... (supposed to have way better battery life though and blacker blacks...)

Any hope or advise or reasons not to downgrade back to the T-Bolt?

honestly i don't see perm root in the immediate future. Unless a DEv has been sitting on it just waiting to release it when the G Nex is released in order to steal some thunder.
Well that stinks.
Me and my wife have the LG Ally and are looking to upgrade in March.
I am trying to find the phone that has it all. Been looking at the Bionic, G-nex, Razr, and the Rezound. so far here is my problems.

Razr: Has locked Boot loader also no removable battery. Lame.
Bionic: Has Locked Boot loader.
G-Nex: Has Lame 5 Mega pix camera No Sd card and no Removeable battery..... Bigtime Lame.
Rezound: has No Perm root, Locked Boot loader

Its Drivin me nutty!?!

So if I was forced to choose right now I would choose the Bionic. Even though it has a locked bootloader its still lightnin fast. They also have a descent Dev Group.

Perm root is Very simple on the Bionic as well as a simple Recovery system.

So am I just spoiled. I basically want what I have with the Ally just BEEFIER.

I wish team BAMF would get involved, or GNM. That would make this puppy SING I bet. :D

Why do people keep saying the G Nex doesn't have removeable batteries? Guys the G Nex HAS REMOVEABLE BATTERIES. VZW HAS THE EXTENDED BATTERY THAT WILL BE SOLD IF YOU WANT IT WHEN THEY FINALLY RELEASE IT lol.

Also megapixels mean nothing in cameras. Its all about light sensor and shutter speed.

Supposedly BAMF will be involved at some point on the ReZound according to their website.

If Root is not a priority to you i would say hands down the best phone is the ReZound.

Hey my brother I certainly didnt mean to offend. Thanks for the info I will take that into my consideration.

I do believe though that there is still no SD card. may sound silly but to me that is a big deal.

I am getting pretty excited about the Rezound again though... S-off and unlocked bootloader goodness would be incredible. Also thanks for the info on BAMF. :D
