***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Oh, and here is my theory of the morning. With the Prime search bringing back the GNex page on Verizon, and Best Buy's add showing Nexus Prime, I had a thought. What if Verizon thought it would be the Nexus Prime, and had all the marketing info printed up as such? That could cause a delay in the release if they had to retool all that stuff. Don't get me wrong, I am pretty entrenched in the Verizon has screwed the pooch by not communicating crowd, but it doesn't hurt to think about other scenarios.

Wow, looks like things got pretty heated yesterday, eesh. I started trying to catch up from over 20 pages ago and gave up
Whelp, the wife isn't going to be happy waiting another 17 days to get my Bionic. Her OG is really in the crapper. I keep offering to activate my old OG since it's in much better shape than hers but she says she's fine. Anyone know how easy it is to activate an older phone? If I can get it done online real quick I may just do it for her anyway.

It should be really easy. Just turn off her phone, and go online to your account, there is a page for inputting the new MEID. Then just *228.

Good Morning Sexy Nexis.
I think we should have smooth sailing from here until release day. We know the phone is coming and we know it will be 32GB. We also know that tempers are short due to a long wait as well as the fact that Thanksgiving is upon us and we will actually have to interact with people rather than be engrossed in our new toys. :D
That being said - let's all just play nice and no kicking sand at one another or doing anything to anyone's cheerios.
and now it is time to get up and shower even though I'd much rather stay under the nice warm covers.

Interesting results when using different search terms on Verizon's website.

"Galaxy Nexus" gets a normal search results page.
"Galaxy" gets a normal search results page.
"Nexus" gets a normal search results page.

"Nexus Prime" goes to the Galaxy Nexus page.
"Prime" goes to the Galaxy Nexus page.
"ldnfdsviesnsPRIMEldknfsdoi" goes to the Galaxy Nexus page.

It appears that if you put the word "Prime" in the search, no matter what else is in there it goes to the Galaxy Nexus page. If the word "Prime" isn't in there, it won't go there no matter what you type.

Hmm, that is pretty interesting and probably deserves a little more attention. I'm not quite buying into the whole "we decided to change the name at the last minute" thing JUST yet, but this is odd. The best buy add that leaked also shows the REZOUND right next to it... Wasn't it still the VIGOR when we thought the Nexus would be the Prime? Or did we know the Rezound name before we knew it would be the Galaxy Nexus?

Also interesting to see two different android blogs take two completely different stances on this issue:

Best Buy Seems Confused, Calls Galaxy Nexus the

Good Morning BB. Yeah, I am kind of bummed, we are departing from our normal Thanksgiving tradition this year, spending it with my wife's mom's side, instead of my wife's dad side. The best cooks are on her dad's side.
And the best times are had with them too. But our 5th thanksgiving, and we have never spent one with them, so I guess its time... Figures I won't have my GNex for it too. :p

Me: "Siri, when will Verizon actually release the Galaxy Nexus?"
Siri: "Wouldn't you rather know the meaning of life?"

Ok, that conversation never actually happened, just figured I'd inject a funny for my first post in this epic thread. I'm a long time Touch Pro 2 victim and am looking forward to getting my hands on my first Android device :). I'm just as frustrated with the rest of y'all as to how Verizon has botched this release.

Know what you mean. My brother and sister-in-law usually invite us for Thanksgiving. They live about 20 min away. Problem is, her cooking isn't all that great and they're boring as hell ;)
We always visit our family friends in VA. Cooking is awesome, tons of booze, huge screen tvs for football and we always spend the night. :D

Welcome to the forums! I am excited about this phone, and its an excellent choice for a first Android phone, to experience it as Google intended.

Yeah both sides of my wife's family lives within 30 minutes. (Closest family of mine is 6 hours, with 3 young kids, just too hard). I tried to talk her into visiting with her mom's side for a couple hours, then heading over to catch the tail end of the food at her dad's side... But she said not this year.

I was going to "host" thanksgiving this year, but got over-ruled by my aunt and uncle(my cousin their son is coming into to town). Now we're all going to a "restaurant" for a buffet dinner. So I lose a REAL dinner, access to my 55" TV, BEER, and I might miss the Ravens game at 8pm... I swear to all that is holy, if I miss the Ravens game...

Yeah, that is what we are doing, a buffet at a restaurant. It's not so bad, because the restaurant makes excellent food, but its just not the same, I am 27 years old, and this will be my first time ever eating thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant...
