Who wanted a search button on their device? This is why I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE android development and its developers.

Relax, it's not coming till sometime in Dec. they are not going to talk about it at all until after black friday.

Agreed. They are not going to release any details that might compel people to think twice about spending money on Black Friday. P3Droid must think that it is now coming even later than Dec. 11th. 15th?

Ok, I'm getting fed up suffering through my Blackberry's endless life. I've had this stupid thing for 3 years now and I want to step out of the dark ages. I really don't want to go the "renting" route out of fear that Verizon will donkey punch me in the face then point and laugh after they delay the GN, but I'm getting to the point of no restraint. Should I wait until 12/1 to rent? That way I figure I'd still be within the return period if they delayed it a few days. I figure I can hold off for another week.

Hi. My names Dubie and I'm living in the past. I need help.

My sympathies on your suffering. You can step out soon and join us in the light. If the phone is working then I'd say wait. I know it's painful but you will be rewarded greatly.

You've gone 3 years and you shouldn't have to wait an additional 2 weeks for the GN. You should totally rent now. It's worth it.

So here are the numbers for those of us who don't have an upgrade handy, if the $619 price is correct. With 7% tax (my tax), the phone at retail comes to $663.39. By adding a line, phone price is $320.92, plus $14.61 for 24 months for the extra line, Comes to $671.63. But if you can get a loyalty discount, that will reduce the cost of the subsidized phone to $249, and end up being cheaper overall @ $618.13

Now is there a way to get rid of the google search bar at the top...thats the real question...

By default, no.

But I will look through the file tonight and see if I can find a way to get rid of it. I'll ping Paul and see if he can find a way to get rid of it as well.

Not sure what the Search button actually does right now though since I don't have a device to test it with.

If the authorized retailers can buy the phone for $619, wouldn't that make you think the retail price for the customer is going to be higher? That retailer has to make some money in there somewhere

I see droid-life answered my question about a drop test, nice to see how well the galaxy nexus holds up compared to the razr. :)
Well, in the RAZR's defense, the stairs that the Nexus was dropped down were carpeted. If the Nexus had been dropped on concrete like the RAZR was, it probably would have been just as busted up.

So I dont know how many of you have twitter but P3 posted last night that anyone who got a "rental" may want to return it b/c you wont see the GN before the trial period is over... Jus sayin.. I wont post the quote because you can find it on your own

Not entirely correct. He stated that anyone who scored a "rental" from BB (Best Buy) may want to return it because it won't be out in time. They have a 30-day return policy so assuming you got a RAZR on 11-11-11, he is saying the Nexus won't be out until after 12-11-11...in his opinion.
