i agree. he downloaded stuff that was publicly available on their own website,and then ordered him to cease and desist(after removing said materials from their own website) and are now trying to sue him.

ill say it again... TrevE is one that everyone should be donating to. his work and findings affect almost everyone,no matter whay kind of phone you have.

All I can say about this situation at the moment is this. Just wait. Theres more....lol.

I am really not too sure how much "trouble" they caused him, if anything that letter made his work get much more exposure than it would have had they done nothing at all. I am glad the EFF backed him and got this taken care of so quickly for him.

I'm embarrassed to ask, but I need some help...when I download the TrevE_Logging_TestApp_v7.apk onto my phone, it shows in the browser's downloaded section, but when I click on it, it pops up a message saying "Download unsuccessful - No application can be found to open this file"...anyone know what I might be doing wrong? I know I'm supposed to wait until I have this file installed on my phone before I go out to the market for the pro version license...but I'm stuck...

I firmly believe that Carrier-IQ was counting on Trev to cave-in but it backfired on them. I'd be willing to bet that company thinks twice before going after another lone developer

Yeah I am sure of that as well. They send a letter saying you will owe us lots of money in damages if you keep at it so stop and we won't go any further.

Now they are working on damage control.
