Please don't buy this yet

I want a tablet now. I don't feel like waiting 4 months hoping that Amazon releases a marginally better tablet.

You are not going to get a much better tablet for the price in 4 months just based on the costs of components. There will probably be a 10 inch tablet for $299 but I won't expect an upgrade for the 7 inch model.

And when does having short product cycles are considered shafting the customer? There is always something better around the corner.
Media Center - not a tablet.
You are comparing a full computer with a souped up e-reader.

The only way I will be at all miffed, is if the price stays the same. Even then, I already thought about giving this to my sis in the event that a new one came shortly. The beauty of this tablet is that it is so relatively cheap for what it does. I'm sure a lot of people bought this for it's portability, not everyone wants a bigger screen. My guess is they are going to be a bit more expensive too.
I knew that a new bigger version would be coming out before I even purchased mine, this has been known since before the launch date.

Im gonna set mine on fire, then throw it off the roof of my house, then put out the fire, then run over it with my car, then back up over it, then jump out the car and stomp on it and then Im gonna eat it.

That will make it up for a new model coming out the q2 of next year.....

I guess I should throw mine away. No point in keeping it now if they're to be releasing one with an 8.9" screen in 6 months.

The OP makes me laugh.

The ipad can't even be held with 1 hand comfortably(I have tons of friends and family with one) and it a lot heavier device. Yet, he tries to say the fire is equally as heavy lol.

That's all you need to read to know he is using his own hate towards a company or device and not using facts.

The rumor link he posted talks about an Ipad3, so should all ipad2 users also never buy an ipad since that company also makes new devices every 6months to a year? hahahahha.

Darn it my graphics card is outdated that i bought earlier this year, I hate Nvidia for making new things each month. And my TV, it doesn't have 3d or internet, why did they make new ones after I got to 1080P and 120Hz? sucks.... I hate Vizio!!!!

come on man, grow up.....

By the time the new kindle is out, I will have used this one enough to get my $200 out of it. Then I can sell this one for at least $100 and buy the new one should I feel the need to. No big deal.

And you just know that if you buy a new Chevrolet today, they're just going to release a better one next year and you'll be tied to the GM dealership for years and forced to buy Chevrolet parts. It's a giant conspiracy to get your money!

Learned my most important lesson about "tech" back in 1985, when I bought an Osborne PC and the company declared bankruptcy two weeks later. Decades later, after many devices of all kinds, the beat goes on. Bought Kindle Fires for gifts this year and fully expect them to be obsolete (sort of) before long. Don't you know, there is always a better widget...

Amazon is worse than Apple when it comes to shafting their customers.

Just go look at the history of the kindle sku updates. Wait 3-4 months and they will put out a much better one for the same price or $50 more.

I expect at least two new Kindles next year before Summer. :)

And that is a good thing. Amazon is doing EXACTLY what they should be doing. Better, cheaper, and faster next year at a lower cost. Not sure your complaint is worth considering, quite frankly.

By the way, Apple does not shaft their customers.
