How to unlock Galaxy Nexus

Hi, I have a Galaxy Nexus locked, just bought from O2 UK, do you think where could I have it unlocked? I need it asap. O2 SIM is useless for me.

According to Mobicity in Aus locked GN was released last week via a number of UK carriers, unlocked phones are due for release 23/11/11.

If you buy a phone heavily discounted on a contract you have to expect that it may be locked.

Either return it and buy sim free or buy from somewhere that will give you GSM stock.

It's not that kind of locked.

You are talking about "bootloader locking." ALL bootloaders come locked, but the Nexus can be unlocked with a simple command.

He is talking about SIM locking, which means it's locked to only one carrier.

no im talking carrier locked,,, and this would be the first nexus to come that way,,,,

I don't mind buying it locked and paying less upfront. What bothers me is that no one has an unlocking solution yet. I need this phone in Vodafone. Should I wait for Galaxy Nexus unlock codes or try to hack it?

One bloke reported buying a simm unlock code from O2 which worked and several peeps report simm unlock codes being for sale on ebay already. I've not checked it out, being in Aus and all.

After several attempts to unlock my phone, I've got 5 refunds from different specialized websites. (some of them prompt others after claiming it) Finally, this morning, as previously promised in an earlier email, samsungimeiunlock announced me that they have the code. Now my phone is unlocked, the whole thing took 10 minutes.

Before to order please tell me if it is complicated to use the code. Was it a straightforward procedure?
Also, after unlock do you have all phone features active? I am interested especially by the internet connection.

you only need to insert a SIM from a different network and the phone will ask for unlock code. You insert the unlock code and that's it!

Guys, I hv a Vodafone - UK contract mobile. I bought it for my uni project. so i select the min tariff with 50 min. I insert an Orange PAYG sim, it didnt ask any unlock code. but the coverage bar turned gray. I tryed to switch it manual carrier. But it wont work.
Any sugestions to unlock it ?

For what it's worth, I got a Galaxy Nexus on Vodafone contract. It was not locked. I used it on Three for a couple of days while waiting for my PAC code to work. I think if it's locked it will actually reject your SIM, not just give you zero bars. You will have to reboot though.
