Reading through various threads regards setting up apps2sd they all go on about Nandroidbackup, but I'm at a loss on what to do..

Am running JV1.5 ADP, recovery_testkeys and splhard, now all instructions are saying boot into recovery mode and press Alt+B to perform the backup, but when I go into recovery mode I don't have Alt+B, so do I need to do something else.

Also other's have said to complete setting up of the ext2 partition I need to press Alt-X while in recovery mode to enter more commands, but again I don't have this option.

So am I missing something or not done a step during the flashing process

Full Info on phone
MN = Android Dev Phone 1
Firm = 1.5
Base = 62.50s.20.17h_2.22.19.26i
kern = 2.6.27-00392-g8312baf (jesusfreke@androiddev)
build = dream_devphone-userdebug 1.5 crb21 147201 test-keys

thanks

I dont see it in my JF build either. Which is why I didn't update to Dev's release last night. I'm torn between updating to 1.51 and hoping it's in there, and updating to the modified 1.5 build for the increased volume.

the nandroid is in the recovery what ver are you using? I use ver 1.42

and my command list has

Home+Back
Alt+L
Alt+S
Alt+W
Alt+B
Alt+X

It actually states on JF website where you can download the roms that the nandroid backup was removed from 1.5 & 1.51 as had some issues, and to use ealier version to get nandroid back on.

I have a modified build of the JF ADP 1.5 build that contains fixes to the SU and whitelist ... and with the testkeys, and bootloader I have the Alt-B feature ..

I believe it to be part of the bootloader/recovery ...
I have Confirmed this on the xda-developer's site that it is in the engineering/dev spl bootloader !!!

* What is Nandroid Backup v2.0?
Nandroid Backup is a set of tools and a script that will enable anyone who has root on their G1 and has the engineering/dev spl bootloader [1] (or has a dev phone) + a recovery image with busybox and adbd running as root [2] to make full system backups. These can then be restored using the fastboot [3] commandline tool and your phone in SPL/bootloader mode (hold camera + power). This allows you to create regular backups of your entire phones NAND flash so that you can restore a backup when something breaks. Its backup method works on a level that allows you to completely break, wipe or corrupt any or all partitions and still restore the phone to a working state within a few minutes. This works great for those who use their G1 for normal activities but also want to test their ideas which might break the phone, or when not having an extra G1 to keep purely as a development phone.
