***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't all the other nexus phones $199 on release if subsidized by a carrier?

Maybe google is making them release the phone with this price to keep with the whole nexus line thing.

If this is true I will be happy because if memory serves me correct the nexus phones were priced at $530 or $560 with no carrier subsidization

I don't think that's the case. In the Fox and Friends Interview, when asked how much it would cost, he said, "hopefully Verizon will let us know soon." I tried to find the link, but couldn't.

Hello all. This is my 2nd post. Sorry I had to inquire on the rumored Nexus Tablet first :) Been lurking for a few months now but I've held off posting till today because I feel that the 29th release is the first rumor that I personally feel is credible. Hope by doing so I bring some luck to the community!!!

You all seem like a nice bunch except for that Steven moderator fella. I've got my eye on you.... ahaha.

THANKS...hmmm...now is it worth losing my unlimited data?....

No...definitely not :)

There have been multiple reports saying that you won't lose unlimited data. You just choose whichever data plan you want, then when you receive the phone and you call Verizon to activate it, you tell them you want to keep your unlimited data plan, and that it wasn't an option on the Costco site. There shouldn't be a problem.

If I decide to go this route, though, I'll definitely be calling Verizon first to confirm that, and to have them make a note in my account.

While I like the rest of you folks in here are anxiously awaiting the release of this awesome device, I would think that those that have access to people "sources" on the inside have expressed their own interest to those same people that as soon as info is available, it will be known. Constantly asking our wonderful friends that reach out and ask others to put their jobs on the line for us gets rather insensitive. I'm not trying to be harsh in any way, but it would really get to me if I were one of them being badgered. I hope we can all be paitient and wait it all out. We have waited this long. Can we please refrain from asking every one to "check their sources" at every hint of a wisper, please. The wait gets shorter by the day.

Well during the Google's Galaxy Nexus Challenge, the rules said:
8. PRIZES: Seven winning entries will receive a Galaxy Nexus phone as described at www.google.com/nexus. (ARV of each individual prize: $500.00 USD). Prize may be subject to terms, restrictions and conditions imposed by Google. The Prize does not include activation or usage fees required to activate and operate the device. All such fees are the responsibility of the winner.
So Google thinks the cost of the phone is $500.00.

They may have been asked to not reveal the price. Although I doubt with VZW'S latest trend of discounting smartphones at only half the price of retail that it will be that low.

But there is always hope :) like I said all the other Nexi were $199

zerocool, I didn't take any offence at all in your post, my reply to it I meant no offence. My reply to your earlier post was only to point out that from my experience with the sholes pre-release thread, info from one who works for the manufacturer was always much more steady and reliable than info that comes from VZW employees.

fixed, they will have to work out another one for the VZW version if i read correctly earlier

Maybe I misunderstood my buddies when they said they have LTE engineering devices and are saying WOOt, now I can make backups. Thanks Koush and clockworkmod.

Why is everyone getting so worked up about this ad and wondering what it means?

Have we all forgotten the leaked marketing schedule we saw almost a month ago? It showed an ad campaign for the "Samsung Holiday Portfolio with Galaxy Nexus," scheduled to start right after Black Friday. Presumably the ads were purchased some time ago, and they're starting right on schedule.

As far as I can see, the only real news here is the $199 price, but even that doesn't mean much until we see the fine print.

Any chance the members who have "sources" can reach out and get more info about the ad, possible release date, etc? Steven, Han's sis? Just wondering...

Thanks!

My gut (does that count as a source?) says this is an ad that was supposed to be pulled when the release was delayed. Maybe this is the type of thing that will get Beg Red to release something today to help overshadow the blunder.

They are beating on it a little hard by saying an AUX cable is clunky? Huh! Its smaller than a USB cable.
Battery-draining magic of Bluetooth A2DP streaming? Your in the CAR! Connect the 12volt! Mercy!

"This leaves you with just three options for playing in-car music -- purchasing a clunky auxiliary cable, connecting via the highly compressed, battery-draining magic of Bluetooth A2DP streaming, or buying a different phone."

Picked up the Galaxy Nexus external battery charger at MobileCityOnline today.

Looks like the old Galaxy S external battery charger will work with the GNex.

Came bundled with an 1850mah battery with NFC, which is specifically labeled for the VZW i515 Galaxy Nexus.

Not at my computer so pics of the charger and battery are on my tweets...

Very nice. How much did that set you back? (if you don't mind me asking)
