Is anyone else having issues with the notification bar dropping down or messages showing they are unread in the notification bar and you already read them? I am having a lot of slow phone issues and I'm also having the lag touch screen issue.. every so often Il tap an app or go to pull down my notification bar and it won't work? So i turn my screen off and back on and usually that fixes it but sometimes it doesn't and i haveto restart my phone!? And today I got a message when this happened HTC sense is not responding!?

Are on the most recent release, have you also tried a reboot

Yes iv rebooted did a battery pull etc... No such luck! And a friend of mine that has an original EVO 4g my old EVO 4g is having close to the same issues.. my old EVO 4g I sold to her when the EVO 3d released and i got it on day of release. I'm on the latest firmware prl profile etc.. first major issue(s) iv had and i don't want to do an insurance claim only for a re-furb and It's not a re occurring thing either so I jw if I was the only one having the same issues!?

I actually had the same problem with HTC Sense not responding and eventually crashing on me. I was running GO Launcher EX when this happened, but it cause it to malfunction on me when Sense crashed. I personally had to use a Task Killer to get Both of them to restart; couldn't find them in the Applications section in Settings.

Did you happen to do a Factory Reset when you updated to the latest Sense when it was downloaded? This is recommended each time a Major update to the system happens. It helps it prevent any problems when it attempts to install the new update version over-top of the older version.

As far as Rooting goes from axisofoil's post above, I am waiting for CyanogenMod to be released from Alpha to RC1 to Root our lovely EVO 3D. Looking forward to it very much so.

Time to root, or do a FR

I'm also experiencing some issues. As of late, I haven't been able to access the stock messaging app whenever I receive a MMS. Usually I'll just reboot bot this isn't working anymore. I'm also getting some of the lag mentioned above.

I hear you, but those are your only options, or try to get sprint to replace the phone, and hope it has an older HBoot version, then you will be golden.

One more thing, is you can freeze all your downloaded apps and see if it is a app you downloaded that is causing the issue, or think of what you have downloaded recently before it started acting up

Grrr... I bought this phone hoping I wouldn't have to root. And I really don't want to do a factory reset. I am interested to try MIUI though. I've taken the updates from HTC though and am not sure about their method for rooting.

Yeah I'm not into rooting! Nor do I want to do a factory reset !! No thanks :( but I'm not sure if It's apps I downloaded or my task killer? I'm unsure. But I wonder if that last security update that didn't fix all of the EVO HTC security issues is why this is happening because last I heard there is or was suppose to be another follow up security update for EVO owners!! And the EVO 3d was for sure mentioned to receive ice cream sandwich from sprints mouth and HTC !!!! So I'm just wondering when that will happen and hopefully soon!! And when it does hopefully that will fix these issues if not before then hopefully it fixes itself because I deleted all my apps that could be malicious or contain viruses although I do use lookout mobile! But i refuse to get a refurb from Sprint for my original purchase date 3vo!!!! And I'm not going to factory reset and lose everything cause iv f.reset before and it only made my previous phones worse!!! And my old EVO 4g whom is now owned by my gf she's having the same strange laggy issues all of a sudden as well so It's highly doubtful that It's only our two phones I strongly believe It's a security update issue so let's hope thats what it is thanks again for the help guys!!!!!

If you take it to sprint for help they're going to tell you to do a factory reset... If you don't want to root (this won't fix the problem in and of itself, but wiping and flashing a new rom will because it's the same thing as a factory reset basically) it's your only option. These phones are just like computers. Installing and deleting a bunch of crap over and over again just slows everything down. To stay healthy they need to start over every once in a while.

Not if they are backed up on Google, or use Titanium backup

Yeah my gf was having issues while her EVO 4g was plugged into her labtop as well... And if I do a factory reset will I lose my paid apps!? And would I haveto pay to get them back!?

The free apps also will be there if you have them backed up on Google

As long as you remember the google account and password you're using on the phone the paid apps will still be there in the market when you log back in. They're tied to your gmail account and google checkout.

The free stuff will disappear from the market though so either write them down or find an app that creates an applist.

It should, as long as if it wasn't checked and you did check it and give it time to back up first, it usually does it pretty quick though, once it syncs.

Okay cause i checked and iv had that backup option marked I just hope it actually works :(

I've been having problems with it lagging and freezing lately too. I'll be in an app, usually the Amazon Appstore or the Android Market (though it's happened with others) when the touch screen stops working and the bottom four buttons become unresponsive. Turning the power button on and off again gets it working again. It's wierd because I've never had this happen with any previous smart phone.

I understand it is like a computer, and a hard reset may do the trick for a fresh start, but it's still odd that it is doing this when it isn't even 6 months old yet.
