Root Erasing ESN on Huawei

Here's the situation, my phone end button is shot to hell and my key pad is peeling up, i went out to day and bought another ascend and the esn was still being atteneded to by another customer so i bought it back and a cricket rep said the same thing, so I like the phone its cool im at 710mhz with no problem, but how do I do a ESN to erase someones account off my new phone, cricket wont let me activate it til I fix it.

The ESN has to be removed from the account or the account its on has to be closed. I know a kid that just went thru this. Bought it from his friends cousin and Metro wouldnt let him activate it until it was removed from the other account. So he had to track down the cousin and get the name the account was under and the pass phrase (The cousin switched to Sprint and didnt want to go in so just gave him the info) and once it was removed from that account he could put it on his. Thats the only way to do it I believe.

for future refs always call and verify the ESN before purchasing, even if the person says it's good.

Well, you might want to contact the crew over at Cricket Users forum and see what they say. As far as I can tell, they are pretty much the experts on Cricket policies. Plus, they can change numbers, plans, etc. during business hours since they have a connection with a Cricket store. Ask around there.

there is ways to do it using say cdma tool or cdma workshop. But technically its illegal to repair the esn like that. If your famialir with those programs from writing prls. like most ascenders have done. If you check out cdmatool. I think you will be able to figure it out. At this point what do you have to lose if nobody at CU forums can help. Just use the settings from your ascend thats already in service if your not gonna be using it. Thats all the help i can give. Hope you get it figured out.

Doing anything to the ESN is illegal as hell. Thats like switching or altering the vin number on a car.

Yea didn't wanna go into deep explanation and get in trouble. I as well do not support it. Just letting him know it is possible to get his phone going if he is willing to go to those lengths.
