I will be honest, the thing about the Vigor that bothers me the most, is we have no idea how Sense is going to be implemented with ICS. What if it takes away from it, and is actually worse than gingerbread.
I'm no hater on HTC, I love my Incredible, but I'm honestly expecting HTC to destroy ICS with Sense. It'll most likely have a sluggish overlay just like with their other phones.
I half expect it to look identical to the GB version of Sense considering HTC's lackluster phones recently.
Then again, that's just my 2 cents.
How does the size look to you?? Just curious
Anything's possible.
At minimum, I'm looking forward to the kernel improvements as well as Dalvik engine improvements for Sense. Those alone will have to improve performance.
Anything else is the Nexus Thread Battlecry - we'll have to wait and see.
I'm starting to feel like the Nexus is going to end up like one of those seriously over hyped blockbuster movies. It's so hyped that when it finally comes out it's like....meh.

Unfortunately, this will be true for many.
Even if it is the absolute best phone in the world, it's still going to be hard to meet everyone's expectations.

Does Sense actually slow the phone down? Is there some sort of consensus on that.
During my brief period with the DInc, I didn't find it to be laggy at all, even if there were a bunch of services running. The biggest issue with Sense that I knew of was the battery life that got killed from all the background services and eye candy. Although I know that some have claimed some signifigant speed boosts after removing Sense altogether.
So who's going naked?
Without a case that is.
After a few days of ownership of my DX, I dropped it onto concrete and dented the corner. I was so infuriated that I went right out and bought a case because I couldn't stand looking at the dent on my new phone. But after a few weeks with the case, I just couldn't do it anymore, and had to take the case off.
However, I will be using a screen protector. Steinheil Crystal Clear. Hardly even know it's there.

I never had any problem with my Incredible but the past week my Thunderbolt has had some issues, seems like sense has to restart after every time I exit the browser. But I would say that is the exception, not the rule.

I had my DInc for close to... a year before rooting it and doing away with Sense. Seeing as it was my first Android phone, I didn't know any better.
It was noticeably slow and after putting Cyanogenmod onto my DInc, I never looked back to Sense. As you stated, there was a significant speed boost after dropping Sense. And there's been no real long-term lag effects either.
The only thing I miss about Sense is the dialer. I hate not being able to just type in the first few letters of someone's name and having it pull up their number. Scrolling through the letter to get to my brother "Zach" is really annoying.
Unless I am missing an easier way to do this in CyanogenMod7?
Rooting a DInc is so easy, I was intimidated at first but with Unr3voked it's seriously like "download this, click this, wait..."im still rockin the dinc but am too affraid to mess my phone up to root it, sad i know. but i will be learning on it after i get the gnex so if i brick it, it wont matter
