Bought SG2 2 weeks ago. Can I give back and get deal for Black Friday?

I bought my Samsung Galaxy S2 about 2 weeks ago. I figured Black Friday would have some cheap deals however I had no idea they would be as low as 96 cents or $50. I bought my phone for $200 at a local AT&T store. I remember the guy said I could bring it back within 30 days or something like that but I can't remember. My mom seems to think that I can take the phone back to the AT&T store and tell them about the 96 cent deal or $50 deal elsewhere and they will match the price. I for one don't think they will do this but my mom seems sure they will. What is the best way I can give my phone back and take advantage of a cheaper deal elsewhere? What is the reason I tell them I'm giving back my phone? Normally I would not do all of this however I'm really hurting for money.

you can get a full refund at a corporate owned at&t store. bring back the original box, charger, receipt, all packaged and pretty. an at&t corporate store is motivated to keep the sale, even if they need to discount it because a corporate store has a 30 day refund policy, so i bet/would guess a core/corp store will credit you to match a competitor.

if purchased from a 3rd party reseller/authorised agent, you likely may only get a store credit. please very carefully read the receipt, front and back, for the terms/conditions. i do not know what your receipt says or if you bought it at a corp store. also, it does not matter what an employee told you - it matters more what the receipt says. however, a 3rd party/reseller/authorised agent is not motivated to do anything more than a store credit, and keep their money.

you said "bring it back". this means nothing. bring it back for another phone, a store credit, or a full refund? if you bought from an at&t authorised reseller what the receipt says is what will happen.

regardless where you bought it, bring in proof of a lower price in writing - print the lower price offer from the web, and go for it.

Those AT&T people can be sneaky. When I called the store and told him my situation and asked if they could match the price of Sam's Club or Radio Shacks they said they couldn't do it because I had already purchased it or something like that. So I said well I'd like to get a full refund then because it hasn't been more than 30 days. After I said that, he says "well in that case, let me contact my supervisor and get back to you." He gets back to me and says the Sam's Club 96 cent deal is for a different phone (Samsung Infuze or something like that)! I tell him he's wrong and I prove it to him by emailing him the website and the phone number of the store. Then they basically say they can't match Sam's Club price of 96 cents (obviously) or Radio Shack's price of $49.99. They could however give me a $100 credit. I opted to get a full refund ($213) and ended up purchasing the phone from Radio Shack for a total of around $53. They said I'll be receiving my check in the mail soon. To say the least I'm very happy with the way things turned out. Big THANK YOU to captivateMEnow, Jahmakan, and aylonewolf69. This made my Thanksgiving!

And by the way in case your wondering I didn't try and get the 96cent deal at Sam's Club because by the time I was able to contact the AT&T store (9am they open) I was sure Sam's Club would be out. When I called Sam's Club at 7:50 am they had 8 left. When they opened at 7am they had 25. Not only that I didn't have a club membership and heard a 1 day pass won't work for the 96 cent deal. My plan was to go inside with a friend but it turned out he was a city away...But still $53 instead of $213? yes plz! IM VERY HAPPY!

Nice I am waiting for Sams club to send mine to me. Btw you could have bought it online you don't need membership to buy on their online store since its 3rd party

I hope not! My order went through all the "steps" on the website fairly quickly after I placed the order...except shipping, of course they were closed yesterday, so that updated this AM.

Yeah would be quite the bummer cuz I would have missed the fifty dollar radioshack and fifty dollar costco deal for skyrocket oh well guess my captivate will have to last me for an bit longer
