Dude, Did u even read the guy's post? He doesn't have a Verizon phone right now...he has a Sprint phone. And contrary to what you are saying...some people DON'T have a choice of carriers......oh ok, I'll move my family to a different area so I can get AT&T.

You're right and I apoligize that I did not catch that, but you DO always have a choice. You can choose to get a cell phone or not. And where he is from, he has a choice of cellular carriers.

I said this once before, I would love to see a comparison for each carrier and what they have released over the past six months. Some people are slamming Verizon for not releasing new android phones, or the iPhone to come along. Verizon JUST released two new android phones three months ago, plus several other types of phones since then, ANNND, and the new Motorola announced just recently. So, they don't announce the iphone, but they are making better progress with new phones than they have in the past!

I again apologize andiron for mistaking your post, but the tone with some people on here who are driven by what they read in the phone forums, whip themselves into a fever pitch based on unsubstantiated rumors and speculation to a point where they make statements like "if Verizon doesn't do something about this, I'm leaving!"

Do you really think they care about that statement? It's all about the best business model to MAKE MONEY, not to make you happy. If making you happy makes them more money, then yes, it would be about making you happy, but in the long run, they REALLY DON'T CARE about individual opinions....

I apologize for taking my frustration out on you. I don't even know you. I hope you understand that I'm sorry for snapping!

Am I the only one that thinks everyone should stop whining? I got bored and made a real quick mock up of the incredible after looking at old pics of the bravo/desire and the supersonic. I think it will have almost exactly the same size just a different curvature to the corners and a different back. The back may end up being a solid piece of aluminum like the legend just in a weird shape. Who knows, just wait.

The biggest complaint about looks is the back plate. The biggest complaint though is specs as the Incredible will have less then half of the RAM of the Desire.

No I dont think there were carrier specific announcements but there were still AT&T confirmations regarding phone carriers I believe. I understand it was a European conference but it attracted a lot of the major phone manufacturers so I guess it wasnt too naive to think there'd be some kind of VZW announcement. The incredible is an HTC phone, just thought itd get some spotlight time considering it leaked around the same time as the Desire and Legend.

Its sounding like we wont hear anything until March now though... Nothing wrong with the N1 I guess, the wait is literally killing me though.

yea, but when is the last time Verizon confirmed anything? Hell the only way we know that they're getting the N1 is because Google put them on the order page. My biggest problem is the incredible doesn't add up with what has been said so far.

OIK - I am stupid....what is bad ESN and how do I know? THANKS!

Its the Electronic Serial Number of the phone (I think MEID is highly related). Its the number you used to manually add a phone to your plan online. I think you just get bad ones when someone has reported it stolen or filed an insurance on that phone. That phone then gets deactivated which means the ESN/MEID cannot be used again as opposed to someone who removes a phone from their plan so that the ESN/MEID is still good.
Some sellers on ebay are upfront and say its a bad ESN in the description so you know you are buying the phone for parts. Others not so much.
Other people may be able to provide more information then this. Like if there is a way to find out the ESN/MEID is good. Best I know is if you try to add it to your plan online. Maybe ask the seller if you can have the ESN first to test its validity. other then that I personally dont have a clue.

See? That's what's so great about this HTC Incredible sub-forum. Even if there is a little disagreement or misunderstanding, everyone takes it upon themselves to apologize and make things right. Great attitude and a great post! Keep up the great work guys!

You know, the reason I am so anxious for this phone or a new phone is due to several reasons which I call the perfect storm....

1. My wife and I are eligible for our urgrade
2. I have the funds to purchase 2 of these phones, one for me and one for her
3. I have never had the newest and top of the line phone before, I usually always miss out months before the new one comes out. IE get the Eris today and N1 comes out in April.

My wife hates her phone and is very much wanting what I want to come out very soon so she can get her new phone...thing is, we are on Alltel still, and if 1 upgrades then we both have to upgrade to full Verizon plans and can no longer use the Alltel phones.

From the "wouldn't it be cool but probably won't happen" department,

Verizon and Skype just announced a partnership to bring unlimited Skype to Skype calls on Verizon smartphones. Skype on the desktop allows video conferencing. Imagine if the Incredible had a front facing camera and was the first phone to support Skype to Skype video conferencing on VZW.

Yep, I'd thought about that too. Maybe the Incredible will, in fact, live up to it's name. It's true that the Desire, while looking sexy and just perfect, is basically the same phone as the Nexus One. So, if the Incredible has a bunch of hardware features that the Desire doesn't have, although it may not be quite as pretty looking, it could actually be a much better device than the Desire. I think the Desire is HOT, but if the Incredible is just a way better phone, I'd be fine with a fire engine red back plate! Give us some 720p video, a front facing camera, some Dolby Mobile sound and if the RAM is 512, this will be a much better all around device when paired with Skype, or even without Skype. I think if this phone came out with these specs, the fact that it looks kinda plastic-looking would totally be worth putting up with. I'm read for the Incredible! Bring it! I've got a NE2 to use and some cash to spend!
