***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Phone note - the trackball on my Eris decided to only work in certain directions today, so last night's "announcement" of the 8th was extremely welcome.

By the way, Cocoa Pebbles are extremely underrated. Delicious, and leaves you with a bowl of chocolate milk. What more could you want from a cereal?

I have a trackball on my Hero. What do non-trackball people use in replace of the trackball (e.g. Nexus)? For example... how can you edit a sentence by moving the cursor back one letter at a time?

Seriously -- look at it here. This one blew my away. The iPhone is the same size as the SGN screen.

Awesome. Will be even bigger with the software buttons off

Or how about a virtual machine where you can use your GNex in your Prime? Oh how I turn myself on at times...

Now, for the ultimate in laziness, I'll just need to find an app for the GNex that will let me remotely control a T Prime. That way I can set it down ina stand and still use it when I don't feel like holding it. Then I can truly say that I'm using both items at once. Remote Desktop for Android or something... :D

As far as any press release goes for the GNex.....we and others are creating so much free press talking about the 'Unicorn riding Yetti' and speculating on this and that. If I were them I would wait until just a few days before release for a press release because they do there will be a few days of cheers and then the boards will die down, no more hackery and leaked photos.

OT...only thing more annoying then waiting for the Gnex is being left only a few squares and having no spare roll!!!! Grrrr.

When Windows Phone releases an LTE phone for Verizon, I'm ditching Android. I think it's pretty ridiculous that they have to have twice the hardware of a Windows Phone just to have a smooth user experience. Their apps are of very low quality. I'm definitely ready for the switch. I'll stick with this Galaxy Nexus until the Windows Phone with LTE emerges.

Sad, but I guess someone has to like their phones. Glad it's you, and not me. I had one before my DroidX, so I'm done with that.

I assume tap on the sentence where you want to edit, and drag to highlight. The touch technology has gotten a lot more accurate.

Sigh I know my opinion doesn't matter but this hiding EVERYTHING is getting extremely annoying....

I agree. I stopped reading hidden items because it's just too cumbersome.

Apparently, there were some complaints about all the off topic conversations, so the Mods decided that off topic chatter should be hidden.

But from what I've noticed, I think people are going a little overboard with it. Even on-topic phone conversation is getting hidden. I think the Mods intent were if you were to talk about the game last night, how you like sushi and beer, or want to post the obligatory "That's what she said" reply, it needs to be hidden.

But anything related to the GNex doesn't need to be, including getting excited for it, how you plan to pre-order/stand in line, your frustrations with the delay, cases, going naked (no not that naked), or anything else phone related.

Mods, feel free to whiplash me if I'm wrong.

Is there an official ranking of super hero's in order of strength? Just curious...where does The Incredible Hulk (my personal favorite) fall on this list? And what exactly IS He-Man's rating??

I would guess Hulk is in the top 4 With Superman,Captain Marvel (Shazam! ) ,And Thor.

OOOPS I SHOULD HAVE HID THIS SORRY.

After much internal strife, I have decided to wait on getting the SGN.

I have a bunch of term papers and exams due in the next few weeks, and I think if I got the nexus on launch day my grades would suffer poorly. So in the interest of not screwing up a whole semester over a phone, I will be taking in the new phone smell about a week after release.

Edit: pic was supposed to be of someone smelling a new phone, but on second thought it just looks like some constipated creepy dude

Long time lurker, first time poster, etc. I figured I've killed enough time (and brain cells) reading through this forum waiting, oh so impatiently, for the Nexus that I ought to finally bite the bullet and join up. Still on my OG Droid from launch, it's starting to be hit or miss for stability (and that's on the original ROM), but it's not as bad as some folks here so I guess I'm lucky. I will say that the 8th is my final straw, no phone on the 8th and I'll be getting something else, just not sure what. Thanks to everyone for all the information and fun! Time to re-engage the cloaking device.

I'm a long time lurker in this thread with an OG Droid with a dead touchscreen. I am one of the few that actually used the physical keyboard and must have over-exercised the ribbon cable. I have been reading this thread and suffering with an env2 for the last few months patiently awaiting the GNex.

I don't have insider information by any means, but this is what I can tell you... I ordered a Skinomi screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus on Nov 8th, so that I would hopefully have on in hand before the phone released. I have been waiting and waiting for the screen protector to ship. I have emailed Skinomi multiple times and asked them why it hasn't shipped yet. They kept telling me it would ship, "closer to the phone's release date." I thought, how the hell do these people know when the real release date is?!?!

I am happy to confirm that the screen protector is within the limits of my city to day according to USPS.com. Perhaps Skinomi knows more that I want to give them credit for???

Haha this just brought me back in a time machine to the early 2000's. Jk, seriously you'll be fine- you'll never want to go back.

Believe it or not, you're not far off!

Kudos to you for realizing this ahead of time and having the strength of will to make the tough decision. :)

Welcome to the crazy train. Glad you decided to hop on.

FWIW, I loved Jay and Silent Bob strike back. Movie set the record for the number of eff bombs in a time period.
