Android become more and more expensive for me(alarm bug)

I have HTC Hero and my Missis has Nexus One.

Yesterday I late to work for 2 hours because my Hero alarm has switched to "silence" automatically and it doesn't make any noise now.

And today my Missis was late for another 2 hours because her N1 was on charging and alarm sound was chosen from one of her mp3s and alarm didn't work at all.

So the price I paid for this 2 phones is going up :) :) :)

Does anyone had any issues with alarms and how to fix them?

I disagree. I have the rooster alarm set. My phone rests screen up on top of its pouch on my bedside table. Every time that little bugger goes off I jump out of my skin.

My problem with the alarm is that after pressing 'dismiss' or whatever it is, the screen doesn't turn back off. Often I'll have two alarms set ten minutes after each other (I can't count on myself to press the snooze button instead of dismiss, wouldn't want to risk it!) and if I actually manage to get up before the second one goes off (somewhat rare) the screen will still be on from me mashing at it 5 minutes previously.

get a real alram clock//........ why would you ever rely on a phone to get you up....or maybe get some external speakers......

Your next offers will be to get tablet for websurf on the go, get a proper mp3 player to listen to the music, get proper camera to make pictures and so on...

Then what the point of this smartphone if I cannot rely on anything?

LOL, wow, lets just make false accusations at everyone!!

I've relied on my phone to get me up for the past 6 years.

The Nexus does a great job, I never changed the alarm from the default ringing sound.
I don't have the option of how often to repeat anything, for me, repeat is M,T,W,T,F,S

I'm sorry I haven't ever set it to a mp3 so I can't comment or help, but I'm worried because I usually need a song to wake me up and if this doesn't work than I, too, will be missing hours at work.

I don't know if its just me but I have to change my alarm tone every month or so or else I get used to the sound/song that plays and I'll keep sleeping.
