where is the samsung 7.7?

I think Samsung is keeping the 7.7 release details under tight wraps to avoid it from cannibalising its 3 other cousins. The 8.9 was released here in Singapore last week and is very popular.

But like you, I'm holding out for the 7.7.. Good things are worth the wait :D
IMO Samsung cannibalized themselves when they didnt give the 8.9 an SD slot. I was all over that 8.9 until I learned that, then I cooled rather quickly. I mean I was really hot to buy it, waited for months... If I am going to pay a lot of money for a tab without an SD slot it will be an iPad2 , otherwise I have 32 g micro SD cards going to waste.

Meanwhile here in the US I am wondering if they will be releasing the 7.7 before Christmas, but I may jump on the 7plus. Really would prefer the 7.7 though.

Yeah I was pretty shocked too that 8.9 didn't have an SD slot.

Thankfully that's a standard feature for the 7.7. Plus it allows voice calls like the 7.

The 7plus certainly looks tempting at this point of time. But I've been waiting for the right 7 inch tablet for a year now... what's a couple more months.......?

must...

not...

give..

up.

P3Droid has a VZW LTE Galaxy Tab 7.7. Just confirmed with a picture tweet today. Had figured it out through his tweets earlier in the week. It will NOT have voice out of the box from VZW, but he says the hardware is there and it will just not be a stock feature. So we have some Verizon Galaxy Tab 7.7 hacking planned before it even officially exists.

Thanks to the LTE and SIM putting it on a voice plan and using it as a phone shouldn't be an issue even though it's on VZW. Doubting that was ever successfully pulled off with the first Galaxy Tab even though it was probably technically possible, it would have been tough to get the device registered on the network I am guessing as I doubt VZW wanted peeps doing that. With a SIM they have less control of such things.

Hard to say on that one. Two new moto tabs are supposed to hit next week. This one could be after Christmas based on how little info has leaked on it. Moto stuff seems to leak more though with that being a US based OEM so it's tough to say?

I'll probably just get the Galaxy Nexus and pay full retail for this as this will take some time for peeps to hack and get Voice up and running even if it does hit sooner rather than later.

Isn't the Xoom 2 Media Edition supposed to be 8.2? That wouldn't be too bad.

Your probably correct. 7.7" though is already pushing it for my intended phone replacement use idea with all calling done on a headset. They both seem to be minimum bezel for a tablet, but the 7.7 seems more capable of being held in the palm in a smartphone like way without the need to bezel grab from the side like most tablets. Haven't really checked dimensions to see how close they really are though. There is also the 7.7" HD AMOLED Plus display that I doubt the Moto will beat easily.

Sounds like the 7.7 is perfect for you. I need a tablet mainly for reading and surfing. The 7 I have is fine but surfing isn't that great on it.
