Help If my iphone 3g was only 412 mhz and my adnire is 800mhz, why cant my admire do what my iphone did

please forgive my ignorance,but I am a new android user.

coming from an iphone 3g, which only has a 412 MHz processor, it ran all games like dead space, street fighter, FIFA 2012...ect.ect...

yet my iphone 3g lagged, and was nowhere near as fast as my admire.

so why can my slow iphone 3g, without flash still play more high end games then my faster android?

Android and Apple are coded completely different, because of that Apple doesn't need so much cpu resourceas Android does, but hopefully someone will come into more detail about this

All the games on ios are optimized for your device since there's only been what? 5 different iPhones? Developers use alternatives to flash on ios. Then on android they end up using flash because it may be easier or faster to develop. Android and ios each have their own advantages, once recovery and roms land you will see you know what ill try and find you a link to a modified flash that works on your armv6 800mhz proccesor
Btw can't that iphone not even run multiple apps at the same time? Or is that just the first one?

I am not making threads to bash androids, I am trying to LEARN about them.

for example, apple COMPUTERS before they switched over to intel chips, (and before IBM chips) used power PC processors and there marketing on it was "the megahertz myth" meaning their chips could do more with less.

Is this the case with iphones?

my iphone was slow....i hated it, it took almost 10 seconds just to open my text messages , but it did run the games good.

I also noticed that iphone games are larger then apk games.... but why did android choose to fragment the android community by choosing an inferior code to run the games? When these custom roms come out, if they ever do, what exact ally can we do with them?

Hmm.... By "serious apps", I assume you are referring to the aforementioned games such as Hot Stripper Girl Vol.2, Street Fighter 2, and some other socially responsible "serious app"....

Between this thread and your locked one you have had your questions answered more than once. I even posted the link that I used to download Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152 to my phone. I don't recall reading anything from you that you even noticed this. I use it to watch video's of my kids on You Tube via Opera Mini rather than use the market apk. You need root privileges so you might need to read a little about the process. Educating yourself BEFORE you do something is a lost art, or so it seems... In the meantime I am wondering if indeed you happened to investigate and learn a little about the phone that you bought to replace your iPhone? Had you done so you might have decided on another phone all together. One that could do some "serious" gaming. Why, maybe I should take my Suzuki back to the dealership and complain that it's not Italian made?

Well my admire has been rooted, and now i have flash working on it.

a little about why i bought this phone.

1. I lost my other phone
2. I needed a good phone with wifi and good battery life (which the admire has)
3. The price was right
4. it can run on pageplus and metro pcs.

now, I have more questions, since I like the android OS better then apple.

I like samsung battery life on this, and the easy one click root solution. I dont like that everytime I go try to downloadstuff, my phone is NOT supported.

which android phone is the most "universal", which I wont have problems running these apps? What should I be looking for, arm7 phones? Should I ignore the megahertz?Will custom roms ever help us run higher end games or give us more compadability with apps?

are there any world android phones? CDMA/GSM?

whats the equivalent of this phone on a GSM network?

You've purchased a Samsung Admire. A good phone in the Low-Middle class. Let me be the first to tell you that Processor Speed has very little to do with your Admire vs. iPhone debate for the reasons above.

Now onto your other question:

ARMv6 refers to the processor, how fast it can execute things and the like. Ask yourself this:
Do I like MetroPCS?

If the answer is "YES," buy a LG Esteem or Samsung Galaxy Indulge. Indeed, both phones have more power than the Admire.

If you don't like Metro, it's time to pack your shit and find a different carrier. A good rule of thumb if getting a new phone is to make a purchase for a phone with a 1 GHz or greater processor. Maybe consider a Dual-Core phone as well.

Its the matter of hardware and software your phone is/has and also depends on what platform/program the game was built on. For instance I have an LG Esteem. I still cant play the real HD games. Why? Yes I have the software (Flash) but I dont have the hardware.And correct me if Im wrong I dont even think the Admire has a dedicated GPU does it? (graphics processing unit)


Also The Iphone is well a superior phone. You are comparing apples to oranges. No matter what it is the Iphone will be able to do anything and everything better then a $100 entry level Android.

Samsung Admire does not have that addition to its hardware, if it does expect double (or way more) performance than the Iphone. It's just to make it more affordable to the general public

ah ok, I did not know this... So I can live without the HD games, and such but what about streaming? I wouldnt need a powerVR mbx to stream videos would I?

For example, on the iphone I had a program called chronic tv where it let me watch streaming videos of simpsons family guy,ect....

I tried using a program called droid streamer, and I have adobe flash on my phone, but when it takes me to the megavideo link it plays choppy.

the iphone 3g did NOT have flash, so how was it able to stream family guy smoothly and my android plays choppy?

can we stream videos on this thing to watch episodes like that?

I have used google to try and find a good streaming app for videos...

all I have found were apps that basically just use my opera browser to watch videos

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the purpose of this forum was so that people could talk to other people and share knowledge and continually learn about their gear. If you google anything android, it shows these forums first, that's why I joined. If you do a search on the forum, it shows you these threads. Also, you shouldn't call something inferior when you don't know the whats and whys about it. I'll tell you what, for a $60 dollar phone this thing is pretty sweet. Serial dudes. Speaking of sharing knowledge GTK313, I haven't seen those specs anywhere. Could you tell me where you see that or start a new thread with that kind of info?

the iphone family has long used samsung graphic technologies the sgx-540 was in teh iphone 4 (then apple started to sue samsung and... whoops now they need a new manufacturer). teh reason why apple success with so little to offer is because they design the chip layout, the motherboard, EVERYTHING have one company build this part while 7 more are building chips to go on it. you have to understand how much R&D goes into an idevice, this is not something taht samsung is willing to chip out on a budget phone on metropcs, when they have things like the attain 4g, which is your midrange phone.. or even more so your high ends like the galaxy nexus, the samsung galaxy s 2 line etc.... with apple everything rides on that new device selling well. samsung? the admire doesnt sell too well, oh well try again next time, they have 50 other phone sout right now to worry about from big paying customers.

android doesnt let it happen, its because android is so open that manufactuers stick a fresh coat of paint on old hardware. samsung has to make sure there is a list of things that can be fine in the market. first you have your carrier blocked apps (mostly tether ones). then you have ones blocked because you are using a pentium 4 while everyone else is getting ready for quad cores... (you arent really using a pentium 4, just an example) then you have a basic apps that wont play nice iwth your phone, samsung has to monitor all these lists for each phone, for each software version on ALL carriers on all phones. thats just samsung, moto, htc, lg, huweai, kyocera etc etc.. all do this same stuff.

the reason why you are even using android is cuz they can put it on crappier hardware and call it a budget phone. you want them to enforce the hardware by limiting it all, then youve just made WP7.. sure all your apps run great but the cost of hardware to make it to that "certain" level is now a contract plus 100 bucks...

P.S you want the best app availablity, ever? get the latest nexus whenever it comes out.. its teh only way to stay ahead of the curve
