it will have to be done with root. the thing is tho, they take up a total of right about 2mb between them, and can be disabled so easily that going through a lot of trouble to remove them really doesnt achieve anything

Yeah I agree, not a big deal to most, heck it would be really easy to remove them with root too. It wouldn't bother me, but some it does. Good news this is a Nexus device so easily to remove.

Also I wonder when Verizon stores are going to be getting display models in.

Is it possible to complete uninstall the verizon apps and just disable them? Or is this only something you can do to root?

I think the cooler things with this phone are going to be what developers can think up with ICS. I would absolutely love the ability to minimize the on screen buttons on websites and not just on video.

May not be possible to completely uninstall them, but disabling them is just the same. They won't show up in your app drawer and they won't ever run. The only thing you won't get out of disabling them is the space they take up, which together = a paltry 3 or 4 MB. To that I say, who cares? :D

Hi Guys,

Long time lurker figured I would join the discussion.

I also went to the Samsung store in New York this evening to get my hands on this phone. I was for the most part blown away.

The ICS OS is awesome but definitely sports a bigger learning curve then past devices.

I've been worried about this. Is this phone going to be user friendly for those that aren't tech geeks?

I think the simplest way to answer this would be to say, if you've used Android before, you will know what everything does, its just in a different order.
