I will say this first. I loved my Droid X. Always hated the 3G, but loved everything else about it. Great screen, very good battery, otterbox protection, roms galore, etc.
I only reasons I went from Droid X to Razr was 4G and price (yes, I said price). I went to an authorized Verizon dealer and talked them down from $300 to $200. They took me seriously and I walked out there with a new Razr for $220. It can be done, but make sure you're upgrading
The big difference is the weight. It's so very thin and light that I almost dropped it a few times when answering calls because it doesn't feel like it's thick enough.
The placement of the power button felt very awkward at first. It will still take some time to get used to it being on the side of the phone than on the top.
The speakers are definitely louder by default. Even with adjustments in PowerAmp, it didn't seem to make them louder. It think it will damage the speakers if you could make adjustments.
The screen looks great and very durable.
The Razr is fast as hell. Very fast. Very very fast! The UI is a better design and feel. The social network widget is more similar to LauncherPro scrollable widgets (which is not a bad thing). Very easy to root.
Now here are the bad things. The battery sucks. Yes, it really suck. The crazy thing is that the phone is so fast and computer like now, that it drains the battery quicker. My phone dies within 4 to 5 hours from playing online poker, watching streaming movies, social networking and playing games. On top of that, you can't remove the battery. A friend of mine told me that it's probably not just one battery, but a series of small ones to keep the phone thin.
The verdict? Speed over battery life. I'm sold on the Droid Razr. I have to keep a charger at all times, but I'm willing to do that.
Final thought. If you leaning toward the Bionic because of the thickness and price, then go for it. The Razr and Bionic are great upgrades...unless you have 4G in your area. If not, stick with the Droid X and custom roms for a similar experience.
