Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? V Crap Media Manager insists on trying to sync my media to the V Crap website, without my permission.
This started a few weeks ago when I first got the phone (which is amazing BTW!). I usually power down at night when I charge, so I didn't realize at first that V Crap Media Manager was automatically set to sync to the website. I fell asleep and forgot to power down/plug in my phone (should have been fine as I had ~70% battery left). When I woke up and checked my phone I saw that V Crap had synced and I was down to about 40% battery. I thought...No big deal, I will just go into Accounts & Sync and turn off the sync option. But then I thought, this is kind of a big deal as, without my permission, Verizon has basically gone into my phone and stolen copies of all of my media, including private stuff like photos of my family, etc...the more I thought about it, the more p*ssed I became.
So, I went into Accounts & Sync to turn off the sync and there is no OFF option. Only the option to BACKUP, but no option to turn OFF the sync (there is also the choice when to sync and whether to use 4G Mobile or Wifi networks).
Can anyone tell me how to turn this theft of my private information off? You have the option to uncheck which media (music, pictures, video) will sync to the website, but I have unchecked all three no less than five times and everytime I go back in, all three are checked!? I'm not positive of this, but I think all three options turn back on whenever you power down/up.
Sorry for the rant mixed with a question and call for help, but I'm a little fired up over this. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone else think it's BS that V Crap Media Manager can just upload your stuff without an opt out option? I went on to the website and erased everything that synced, but it happened again when I forgot to power down my phone one night.
To me, this seems like a violation of privacy. Any tricks to disable this?
