Plan B - Lost my HTC

Hi, I lost my HTC phone last night and wanted to install the Plan B or Where's my droid tracking app's. But to download/install them i need to log into the Android market using my googlemail account that was set up on my phone. I have no idea what this is as it was just a default email that was set up as I didn't have an googlemail account at the time.

Is there any way I an find out what my gmail account on my phone is? or any way i can track it cause i know someone has my phone.
when i was ringing it last night it would ring and ring and ring. then it started to ring and then hang up, then just go straight to answerphone. Then ring and ring and ring, then ring and hang up.

Any ideas?
I don't have insurance so can't replace the phone and with it being so close to xmas can not afford to buy a new phone.
I feel so down that all my pictures will be gone forever!
I have rang 02 and barred my phone. Will the tracker still work ?

there is no such thing as a default email.. someone had to setup a new GMail account to get the market to work on your phone. You are the salesperson that setup the phone... they would have asked you for name and password suggestions.

you have to find it! go to google website on your pc.. try to login to gmail.
if you can not.. remember... i do not think there is anything that can be done.

go physically back to the places you been.. and look and ask.

Hi guys My name is Josie and I only found out that Android meant smart phone today! So please forgive any numptiness. My partner lost his brand new birthday HTC Desire HD two days ago. Tried to install Plan B from my computer today retrospectively (why didnt we do it when we got the phone???) but it wont install. I think its trying to tell me that Googleplay is not installed on the device but the phone has been switched off since it was (yes I'm going to say it) stolen so my question is do I have to wait for the phone to be switched back on before I can install googleplay or is that in the phone automatically? Its on 3 network.
Any help at all would be very much appreciated as it is daft o'clock and we are leaving for a festival site 3 hours away tomoz early as possible.

Go to Police Station and report it stolen/lost. The IMEI should be on the box, report it and it will be barred from all your country Networks.

You can't instal apps to your stolen phone remotely via your pc.

Report it like the previous person said so they can't use. Unfortunately I'd get another phone because you ain't gonna see your previous one again

Actually you can install apps remotely from the play store on the web, as long as the phone is on and connected to the net.

But the phone should have the Google Play app (or the older Market app) already. You can't install that remotely as it needs that app to install others from the Play Store.

If someone has done a factory reset and entered a new Google account that's also game over for remote installation, but at least in that case they don't have access to your account or data any more.

As has already been said, you should report it and get the handset barred.

FYI, even though you would be able to install apps remotely, they would be useless IMO to you as they need to be opened and set up first on the phone, so EI: if you decide you wanted to load My Lookout on your phone and was able to have it installed remotely, it would need to be setup for the first time to work. So I would simply report it to the police, and also call your carrier so they can post it as stolen or lost in the system. Even if someone added their own Gmail account to it, the carrier can block it and shut it down, making it useless to them.

Don, Plan B by Lookout is designed precisely for this: you install it remotely, it automatically starts and sends location back to you.
