***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Called a couple Verizon stores nearby, both said "let me check", put me on hold for all of 3 seconds, and came back with "we have not received confirmation yet" etc. but I know that's just them following the confidentiality agreement.

The thing is, some stores' managers don't even follow said agreement, much less their employees. So that's why I think some stores give info and others don't. You know how store managers can be to employees sometimes :/

SO EXCITE! (BORAT)

BTW those who think they can't make it on friday to a store
Go ahead and PM Vinylfreak89

I'm requesting for friday morning off and will be on a trip to chicago for the weekend so I was freaking out and messaged him about Overnight Saturday shipping.

I have an upgrade with unlimited grandfathered in. He said he would be able to do it and do the overnight sat morn ship for 20.

Good guy, so just in case any of you need that service, give our fellow AF Nexican some love.

As for me, I'm going to threaten to quit if i don't get friday morning off... haha

Yup just got confirmation there in stock in Delaware
I called christana mall store.
They got them just can't sell them.
She said all they can do is sell them when there launched and it's first come first served no pre order.

Good to know as I'm less than 10 minutes from that store. Now I just need to get my upgrade pushed up a couple weeks from 12/27

Just got a call from Sales Rep who took my name down last week. He told me their district manager is making them setup appointments for Nexus, and since I was #3 on the list that I could come in at 9 am so I m guessing that guarantees me one unless they only get two. Good luck to everyone else.

Saw somewhere minimum 15 per store, so I think you are good.

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking around the board for the past few months and decided to finally join in the conversation.

I'm not usually one to pick up some new hardware when it's released so I was looking for some advice. Assuming that there is no pre-order or ability to reserve a GNex at a Verizon Store, what would you recommend in being at the store when it opens on Friday? I checked earlier today and the VZW store I was considering going to opens at 8am. My concern is getting there earlier enough to be sure that I can walk in, get one and leave without being too late for work, without running the risk of showing up and there being a huge line waiting outside the store or walking in and they are already sold out.

Thoughts anyone?

~Frank

it's usually the same.
I was first in line for both the BB Storm (regrettably) and OG Droid.
For the OG Droid i was there like 2 hours earlier.

Given the 15 minimum thing that's going around i think you'd be ok.

Well this is weird. Called the nearest VZW store, here's how the call went down:
Me: Hi, I'm the guy who keeps asking about the Galaxy Nexus and--
Employee: Yup, looks like you're first on the list.
Me: Cool, so I was wondering if you'll have the phone on Friday and/or if you already have the phone in stock.
Employee: Nope, we're actually looking at a Dec. 13th release date.
Me: Is that just an authorized retailer date or all stores?
Employee: Nationwide on Dec. 13th.
Me: Ok, thanks. (YOU LIE!)

I'll add my own "Just spoke to a so and so at a local whatsis" story:

Just spoke to a manager at my local Best Buy. I asked if they're getting the Nexus in this week, her response:

"Yes. However I cannot tell you what day I can sell it to you because I"m not allowed yet. It WILL be available for pre-order."

Me: "Umm..so would THURSDAY be a good day to come in for the pre-order, or would WEDNESDAY be better?"

Her: "Hypothetically speaking, I'd shoot for THURSDAY. Absolutely I'd go with THURSDAY."

Grain of salt, YMMV, don't try this at home, proceed with caution, yada yada yada...
