***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Just wondering: If I buy this at a corporate store, any chance they'll let me open the box? I have this... thing... haha

I honestly don't care if I have to open it in the store, but I just like being the person to start it up and everything. And seeing as it's coming out on a Friday, I want to refrain from ordering online so I can play with it over the weekend.

not sure if this site has a place for it, and if not mods please delete this... but i will be getting the extended battery and will not want the regular battery, so if anyone would be interested in them is their a place on here we can sell things?

I would consider keeping the regular battery and getting an external charger. It's great to rarely have to plug in your phone.

I have never once looked at a phones user guide.............until now.

Me either. It's like foreplay this time.

Has anyone given a thought about a 2012 Galaxy Nexus desk calander with a avatar a day by Baby Blues and a rumor of the day posted on the bottom of the page. Each month can be dedicated to a different topic, such as: release dates,My CSR said,16 or 32 gig. Etc......jus a thought.

I could manage a monthly calendar. Hmmmm. This has potential.......

Hey Everyone! Long time lurker, first post. Just a heads up for any Port St. Lucie, FL people. I just spoke to the corporate store in Stuart, FL. They will have the GN for Friday morning. I have an appt. for 9AM He stated they have gotten a lot of calls lately. I am so happy!!!! Thank you to everyone who filled my days with news, good times, and sad times. Looks like the wait is over!!! By the way original droid owner and damn proud of it!:)

Welcome to our crazy life!

Talk about irony,4600+ posts and get banned 2 days before release.

Exactly!

I hate to do this when the thread is so awesome but PM it to me and I will take one for the team... :);):D

I can't believe it took this long for that offer. Lol.

Hey everyone! Long-time lurker of this thread. Figured I'd come out of hiding. I have a question though...

I've always had Verizon activate my phones in store. But like most of you, I want to activate the GNex myself. Coming from an OG and no SIM card, how do I do this? Call a number for activation?

Welcome!

I will be going to the 34th street verizon store rather than the 5th ave store (NYC) since the former opens at 8:30 while the latter opens at 10:00. The 34th street store is about thirty minutes from me and requires that I take two trains, while the 5th avenue store is a seven minute walk. When I told my friend about my plan, she said, "It's only an hour and a half, what's the big deal?"

Some people just don't understand.

I didn't miss you Porcelain! It's great to have you! :)

If you're pre-ordering, the phone will come with activation instructions. If you're in the store and want no one else to touch it (like ME), then do your best and have the sales rep standing at their computer, doing their thing, there to help if you get stuck.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll be picking it up in store and I don't want anyone else to touch the phone either. Lol! Hopefully activation isn't too much of a pain.
