Help need to go back to stock

So I was a rooted Ally user many moons ago (has it been 7 months already? time flies with a Sidekick) and now, a Verizon-afflicted friend of mine needs a phone to replace his broken BlackBerry. So I'm giving him this one. however, it's running Velocity 1.0, which when I was still using this phone, gave me massive battery drain issues. and he doesn't know Android, so a rooted rom may confuse him. I wouldn't want him messing with the root folder and bricking it, so I'm trying to get it back to stock and then he can do what he wants. would the directions in this (below) topic do the trick? fyi, I know very little about nandroid and recovery, I can hardly recall the procedure I used to install the hacks.

Also, so I don't have to make a new topic, where are the default wallpapers stored? I want to save some of them, I have Root Explorer but can't find the folder.
