Root Stuck on HTC logo and four triangles /!\

Hey guys,

- Background Info -
The internal memory on the HTC Desire sucks, so I wanted to either upgrade to HTC stock 2.3 in hope of more space, or unbrand it (remove the Orange crapware) or root to uninstall crapware.

- What I tried to do -
After trying to root and ending up at a dead end, I was advised to downgrade (using this guide), then root.

That resulted in errors (similar to this photo).

After, I then ended up with no bootable Android, just a recovery menu.

Finally, I tried installing an RUU: RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127568_signed.exe ...

- Where I'm at now -

That ended up in an error and... to the HTC logo /!\ screen.

I'm unable to press Power + Volume Down to get onto the menu.

Have I bricked my phone?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Chris

Edit: I Just tried to flash RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4. 05.00.11_release_122704.exe (from shipped-roms.com), but got the same error as before:
The ROM Update utility cannot open the requested files or the files are damaged. The RUU cannot continue with the update. Please get a complete RUU package and try again.
I'd be more than happy to return to how it was and forget about rooting/unbranding/upgrading ever again!

Edit2: As I was unplugging it, I got this screen:

BRAVO PV4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93-0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.10.0.30

RUU

You should use the guides here. As far as I am aware, they are the only ones that give explicit instructions for pvt4 devices.

Also stop trying to flash RUUs that start with a 1. These are eclair and if you're on Froyo, are unusable.

Get a goldcard sorted and download the latest unbranded RUU from the toolbox in my thread. Put the phone in fast boot mode (from off hold back and power).

Cross posting in multiple forums probably won't help. Stick to one thread then when you exhaust that thread, go go the other. Please don't mix and match responses.

Once we get you running, come to the root forum here.
I am. a member of xda but there is a much more catered area here for rooting.

Thank you. Installing the stock RUU in your thread has brought it back to life (and without the Orange crapware). :)

I'll start a rooting thread soon to continue trying to root.

BRAVO PVT1 Ship s-on
HBOOT- 1.02.0001
MICROP- 031d
Radio-5.11.05.27

RUU

I tried to install stock ROM from here

http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe

But that didnt work. I got error message ERROR [131]

Also my HTC was faulty from the beggining. If you are familiar with 7 vibrations reboot of some HTC desires then you know what i mean.

When i run RUU it still shows that i've got 2.14.207.2 image. I tried installing O2 Branded rom of same version but got ERROR 110 message. With 2.3 RUU im getting ERROR 132: Signarure ERROR

I got this phone used for free from my friend so no warranty.
you shouldnt get a signature error flashing the 2.3.3 RUU :/
you might need to remove the goldcard if you have created one as the 2.3.3 shouldnt need it.
if however without a gold card you are getting the error, try creating one.

Now it seems its stuck on installation. 18% - Checking Mid/CID. I mean its still going so ill give it another 10 minutes. Phone screens doesnt show any progress bar though

EDIT: OK, it seems it worked. 2.3 is installed but my random reboots still happening. I was counting that flashin new rom will solve this but that didnt happen. Thanks for your help anyway, at least its not bricked :)

Do you know how much it will cost to send my htc to htc service for repairs and new motherboard?
no but you should query them anyway.
if you explain to them it was bought for you as a gift and you do not have the original purchase reciept they may still accept it as its a valid imei thats not barred.
if there is no sign of water damage and droppage then they may do it.

I just called HTC and gave them my IMEI. Theys said phones is still on warranty and i can send it to them. Thing is i just noticed that Warranty seal is missing as well as one of the screwes so i guess no warranty for me yeah?
if the stickers are missing and a screw you are out of luck.
thats bad luck your mate has clearly tinkered inside of the device
