I was previously a evo 4g user however i broke it and decided to upgrade to the evo 3d.

Now I had rooted my old evo so i can get free apps and use wireless tether.

However, I have grown a bit and decided to support my developers but just one question is there anyway get another wifi tether app that will allow me to essentially use my phone as a hotspot for free (meaning no charge from sprint)?

also any good protection programs for my phone besides avg?

You will not be able to use your Sprint HTC EVO 4G as a Wi-Fi tethering hotspot. You would need some kind of cellular data to accomplish that, otherwise you would be broadcasting nothing. :D

If you like supporting developers now, then I suggest checking out the 10 days of .10 cent apps that Google is doing right now. There are a lot of good ones at bargain basement prices. ;)

You can use Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether. There should be no charge associated with it.

I guess I misunderstood your original post. Sorry about that.

Anything relates to tethering or hot spots should be directed here and also read the Sprint policy for tethering, Sprint - Android Forums
