Nope, as I know there is an device from a Chinese brand had named iPad several years ago.

Let's not forget -- Apple has lots of money. Cisco owned the iPhone name long before the iPhone was released. Apple tried to acquire it but could not and launched anyway. Cisco sued and Apple eventually offered Cisco enough in intellectual property and rights to drop the suit. Apple is a big powerful company and even China doesn't want to stop making Apple products over the name iPad.

Whoever is powerful today may not be the same 10 or even 20 years down the road. History has shown that nothing last forever. Who would have thought Lehman Brothers to collapse and who would forsee the Big 5 in accounting reduce to 4 and so many other cases too many to list down.

My personal opinion is Apple strategy of going around suing is showing their signs of insecurity. Instead of better-ing their product to counter competition they opt the other strategy which can only make lawyers so much more happier.

China knows Apple cant move very fast to get another country to manufacture Apple products... it would take a while for another company to tool up a factory and train people to make it, so Apple is stuck for a while.

Not only that, but finding cheap labor is even harder... China kinda cornered the market on that a long time ago. Especially after those workers kept committing suicide... heck, if I had to make stuff for Apple it might be pretty mentally tasking too.

China isn't any utopia, but still. It's rather sad we can't have this kind of justice in America, though... where one dollar = one vote.

Don't think anything will change, Foxconn will go on making the iPads and iPhones for Apple, while everyone else will just go on making their own
