Help Any way to turn off the 4 soft key lights?

Hello I just got my Triumph last week and I have back light bleeding coming from the actual soft key's in the lower left corner of my Triumph, so coming from the "MENU" key. This has made me realize the lights are always on and this is really noticable bleeding especially at night. Is there any way you guys have found to turn them off completely? I see no need for them to be lit up all the time or at all really. My phone is rooted if that helps but it's the stock rom. I've tried the Screen Filter app on the market and it doesn't turn them off. thanks

You know, I downloaded adjbrightness, and it worked great except every single time I unlocked my screen, Superuser popped up to let me know that it was granted root access. It got really annoying really quickly.

Strangely enough, though - I uninstalled the app AFTER telling it to lock the button lights off, and...they never came back on! Now, I haven't rebooted my phone since then so odds are pretty good they'll turn back on when I do so, but I'm enjoying it until then...

Anybody have an alternate way to turn them off? Like I said, adjbrightness got way annoying pretty quickly...

CM7 has it in its display settings -> auto brightness -> edit other levels. Or I heard "keyboard backlight controller" app does the basic file edit and nothing else. I've read that it's a file in /sys/class/leds/* that has it, but when I tried writing a value into there, it didn't affect the button brightness.

You can adjust the brightness in CM7 as well. Both of them have most everything working.
No HDMI in either, and don't use wifi and bluetooth at the same time in CM7 (I don't think you should in MIUI either, but not positive).

My experience in MIUI is that it really slows the phone down when using both. It won't crash per se, but it won't run normally either.
