Galaxy Nexus Play Time Poll

Have you got a bit of Play Time on the GNex yet?

Yep, think I got lucky the rep they sent to see what I needed was the one demoing/Learning the GNex at this particular store. I do think they have stock though as he mentioned they might go on sale tomorrow still if they send the message out OKing it. Later asked if they had stock and he said he couldn't comment on that. If they didn't I am sure he would be allowed to say they didn't.

I can't tell whether any nearby stores actually have the phone. Every time I call I get a ditsy college girl who says "no we don't have that phone"... I have a feeling there's got to be a unit somewhere around here!

Hah. Yep. Pretty sure the one I got to play with for a few minutes was a Demo unit this guy was familiarizing himself with as this stores expert on Nexus and ICS. They had just got it in yesterday according to him.

I went to four VZW's today trying to get some time with one, nobody would let me see it:(

That sucks dude. Seems maybe I got lucky as this poll and thread progess. I posted this to see if it helped hint of chance of a release tomorrow. I figured if lots were allowed to see the demo units it might be a sign they would go ahead and let stock out the door tomorrow. Hiding demos isn't a good sign even if not widespread.

CSR went to the back to get me a Nexus, came out from the back without one and a manager following him. Told me what was probably a lie and said they had to ship them back and didn't have any. After hearing so many stories, I now don't believe him and think he was just saying that since his manager caught him and told him to shut up about it and not show me the phone.

I was at work yesterday and we hadn't got any in yet :(

The more I hear about the Verizon one not being a real Nexus (no Google wallet, backup assistant pre installed, etc, and that is just what we know when it hasn't even been released) the more I don't even care about it. I am looking forward to a real Galaxy Nexus in America, I will probably end up buying an unlocked one and activating it on AT&T eventually.

Seems so odd the way all the stores are handling showing it so differently. The store I was at had a manager watching the sales guy show me their Demo and thought nothing of it. Got bothered by talk about the Wallet stuff though and told the salesman not to say it's "Blocked". Just odd inconsistent stuff going on in general.

I would say it is still a real Nexus even though it has two apps installed I wouldn't say it is that bad, it will still be a developers device. Stock android, hardly any bloat, easily able to unlock/lock the bootloader. This will be a killer device for Verizon when it is released.

Back on topic, is it sad that I want to go to a Verizon store to see and play with the Verizon Galaxy Nexus when I already have the GSM version?

I really want to show off to them and show them I already have one.:D Also I would like to compare the two devices, thickness wise and I cannot help the tech geek inside of me just wants to fondle it. lol.

I do miss having Verizon, but it is a shame that this device isn't out and how badly I feel for you guys with the release madness. I don't miss that part about Verizon. They have always seem to have madness around their releases.

I remember the Incredible chaos, thunderbolt debacle, and now this.

It's not 2 pre installed apps, it is one pre installed app and Verizon blocking a major aspect of stock android (google wallet), and that is just what we know so far. Who knows yet how much Google allowed Verizon to do... Plus Verizon is the worst carrier in the US in terms of price and more importantly customer service.

I am not passing too much judgement until I actually get my hands on the device, I am just hoping Google didn't let Verizon screw it up too much... Anyone know for sure how much Verizon has been allowed to screw up Android?

There's definitely two apps pre-installed, my verizon, and ,verizon backup assistant, but the google wallet thing is pretty crappy. I understand that it sucks, and it is scary about what else they can do. But this is still a Nexus device and sadly this device is as pure android as it gets, especially on Verizon.

How much Verizon costs is one of the reasons I am not longer with them. I loved their service, switched to Sprint and regretted every minute of it. I am now with AT&T and thankfully it is a lot better than Sprint for me. I still get a few drop calls a week but nothing more than that.

If I wouldn't have gotten good service I would have went back to Verizon. Verizon knows they have some of the best service, and that is why they charge the ridiculous prices they do. It sucks, I know.

Also forgot to mention, I wouldn't worry to much about not having google wallet, I don't have it on my GSM Galaxy Nexus. I would have to go through some loops to get it, root, wipe data, etc....

The big problem with this phone is going to be, when wiping I am going to lose pics everytime, and music. I wasn't planning on using the cloud, grrrr....
