Might as well throw another theory in the mix:

I know a lot of stores have stock already, and quite a few stores DENY having stock. Could be a simple supply issue? I remember Ms. Piggy saying something about there being plenty of stock, but that was only for one region I think. Just 2 days ago no buffalo stores would confirm they had any and still only 1 is. It's a very good possibility that all the stores do not yet have stock...

Also two days ago you got yelled at if you asked about the Galaxy Nexus at a Buffalo area store.

This is good news to me because I was starting to think the delay was originating from some kind of major issue with the phone, BUT WHY DID I THINK THAT? I HELD THE PHONE MYSELF? (I'm going insane).

Enjoy!

That update is the most ridiculous news I've heard during this whole roller-coaster. Delayed for no good reason? Good grief. I wish The Source was lying, but somehow don't think so. While they're at it, why don't they wait until Christmas Eve? Somebody must be doing insider trading on blood pressure medicine!

Just did my part for #VZWNEXUSFAIL

I am growing tired of waiting for the phone.. been excited for it ever since its announcement in October. Been following this thread since the middle of November. I'm still waiting though, the Nexus is well worth the wait IMO. Just wish VZW would get their act together and just let it go. The phone is obviously ready to release.

Your not kidding. Funny how I had forgotten about this guy for a few months. We went to school together. His father works for Verizon and had no idea he's worked his way up the chain. Anyway long story short, he saw my post on Facebook bitching about not being able to get the Nexus today. He shoots me a quick text to say call him. In the end the 15th is the date the phone is released to be sold. He did say from what he's pried from his father that VZW has totally botched this release due to several issues. The phone had actually meant to be released two weeks ago. Or at least that's what they were hoping for.

A good connection keep him around! :p

I think VZ wants this to be up before Christmas....wait I know they do!

I think this just goes to show that Verizon has no interest in getting this phone out in a timely manner. Which Doesn't make sense to me why the would want to delay such a highly anticipated phone. But whatever all I know if the 15th doesn't happen I'm out (Going to Sprint). I've gotten to play with the phone and it's great but I'm starting to get really tired of waiting. RANT OVER Thanks for listening/reading. :D

Well I only have till the 13th to Return my Rezound . I think I'm going to go in this weekend an exchange my Rezound for an Iphone 4S . And use it until the Nexus come out . Reason being is I think when I go to sell the Iphone I'll get more money for it then I would the Rezound
Originally I wanted to compare the Rezound and Nexus side by side but after almost a month with it I can not deal with Sense even with launchers over it , it just bothers me and it makes me miss my CM7 Thunderbolt that I gave to my mom . It will be fun to play with Siri for a few days anyways haha

I'd make sure this is actually allowed, I thought you only got 1 exchange of phones.

OK here's the skinny...

I went to buy the phone thinking there's no way I'm walking out of this store with it. The activation went through just fine but they couldn't ring up the sku.

So they hand wrote a purchase agreement and copied my credit card (they were assuming they could run it later today when the sku was active) they never got word from their boss stating anything different from the 9th as being the launch date.

When I got home and pulled the phone out of the box I seen they called & texted, they were frantically trying to reach me of course I knew it was it was all about.
I consider these people friends and wouldn't want to see them fired. I am unemployed right now and I realize how tough it is out there.

but here is the good news...When I called Verizon to make certain that my upgrade eligabity was reset, I explained to the rep what happened. The Verizon rep was very forthcoming and told me that Verizon has not deleted the Nexus from their info guide but only hidden it, she says the release date is there and it's the 15th. I asked how she knew this and she said she really wants the Nexus so she went digging and found it, of course we all know that could change, but I don't doubt the rep for 1 second (and I usually doubt everything) that the 15th is the target date.

Good for you.. definitely doing the right thing here. Most likely saving somebody's job during the holiday season

Isn't anyone starting to get concerned about Verizon's obvious control over this supposed "Google" device. Most people want the GNEX because of it's vanilla android experience and the fact that updates will come straight from Google and not be held-up/screwed up by Verizon. Well I'm starting to worry that Verizon is never going to let that happen. The phone has been out for 3 weeks on other carriers globally yet Verizon refuses to release it. I think they are taking all control away from Google.

I think google wallet being blocked has something to do with it and verizon had to go back and allow it to be able to be installed.

thanks to the source! glad to know that we're still waiting on what we've always been waiting on: VZ to pull their heads out of their asses and say "go". no bugs, no network issues, no lawsuits, just Big Red jerking us around for another week. you get the pitchforks, i'll bring the torches!

At this point I find it all sorts of WRONG there is not an official statement from VZW on why today got dropped. There was no announcement of today officially, but there is obviously stock in stores and was an internal direction for today at some point that was basically almost public knowledge even if not announced officially. From a good PR standpoint there really should be an official explanation at this point of what on earth is going on. There never promised before the end of the year, but something as hot as this thing without a hard date all along has been bad PR in GENERAL, UNLESS you are transparent about what is going on with everything kinda like GM did with the Volt development and release for YEARS.

Nothing falls on the buyer but conscience. Perhaps he will get fired, perhaps not. I, for one, would not want the phone in that circumstance.

Well stated! I totally agree with you, I'd feel terrible if I were somehow responsible for someone getting fired. Especially with something like this where we know that folks could get into trouble.

By the way, has anyone ever called you 'Honest Aabey'? See what I did there?

[ducks for cover as rotten fruit is lobbed in my direction]

And this, ladies and gentelemen, is why Verizon is pure evil. If there were any doubts, there's your proof. They don't care about their customers. They are deliberately delaying this phone for no other reason than to boost their bottom line.

It's pure evil for a company to try to boost its bottom line? Isn't that the whole point of having a company?

I hate to admit it, but this year ya might be right. Not a lot of confidence in our coaching staff this year. But how do you figure Meyer is spent, he's 47! Lol he's coming into his prime and as far as people around him, pretty sure OSU will give him whatever budget he needs to assemble a staff.

I ment he is spent because he has health issues and cannot coach the way he once did. I truly believe he wanted to spend time with his family and has health issues. Both of those were by products of his previous work ethic. He is a 125% or nothing guy. He tried to give it 90% his last year down here and we all see how that went. If Meyer is all in, he can be very successful. However it remains to be seen how he can do without "his guys".

Trust me, the budget for assistants was pretty good down here ;)
