Help Stay away from Sprint NAv 2.8 update!!!

The home screen look a bit different. It seems to find my location faster and the The app is now called Sprint Navigation Premium. The text buttons seem a bit larger. Now when you hit Maps and Traffic you dont have to tell it to refresh your location. It does that automatically. You can now add commute alerts from the maps & traffic screen or sync with the website. They added Diagnostic tools option to Share & more. I don't remember that there before. They also added a feedback button and you must hit menu and exit for it not to remain active in the notification bar. That is all i have noticed for now. Used it on the way home from work. About a 45 min drive and it was spot on the whole way. Very happy.

So i go to update my nav and it asks what phone, then it wants a model and the M900 isnt listed and when i select "other" it says the phone isnt supported? What an I doing wrong?
It should be very simple. Open Sprint Nav and it will tell you there is an update. Choose the update now option, and after a few seconds it will start to download. There's no need to select a phone type or anything.

Ah, I see what you mean. It opens up the browswer on mine too, but instantly goes into download mode (I guess it recognized the device?). Are you using a Zefie build or something abnormal? Have you tried restarting the phone (and pulling the battery) then trying again?

That is wierd. Glad that those using Zefie files can use it as well. I don't use the voice directions so I didn't notice the voice change last night. I will try it tonight on the way home. Though my mount covers the speaker in the rear so I will just hold it to listen. On my fiance's phone it is a woman talking like it was on the instinct. Wonder why it changed?

well, I still havent been able to update but ive been in contact with "tech support". after an eternity listening to some of the worst hold music on this planet i spoke with a tech. He asked the basic questions, said lots of peeps were having issues and that i needed to call back on a land line so they could access my phone... So I did. Actually got the same guy 1 min. later and he had no clue he spoke with me moments ago. Once i explained the situation, again, he asked if the 2.1 version still worked. I said yes. He then told me to just keep using it because the M900 wasnt supported! I told him i have two of them and the other one updated without a problem. He went on and on about how there wasnt any difference between 2.1 and 2.8 and i should just use what i have. Somewhere in the conversation I hung up on him.

My gut feeling is IF is were to do a factory reset all would be fine with the exception of me having to redo all the setup ive done thus far. Ill just wait out the 2.1 update and see what happens.
