Am I the only one questioning the validity of the 15th due to the lack of leaked pics? I mean, generally when a new date is given for this phone there's a pic of the email/document that contained the leak. Have I just missed it? I haven't seen anything except people reporting from their reps.

I can tell you reps at two different Verizon corporate stores both told me they received emails yesterday afternoon saying the 15th was the date fwiw.

Nice! I'll have to post one up later

I know I'm looking forward to it.:D

I was but there's been too many people saying there's a 'gag order' on talking about this thing. That explains lack of pics to me. IMHO anyway

Nope, I just assume every leaked date is bull until Verizon says otherwise. this 15th date is no different. I fully expect it to get pushed back again past the 15th.

My family is Port Authority breaded. All detectives and police officers at GWB/Terminals/Airports/Tunnels...Anyway they say they've been hearing more about google wallet being incorporated into many systems even the little stores at the Manhattan terminals.
I care about it. I travel to NYC from NJ a few times a month and almost every place (even the ticketing machines) in Port Authority take Google Wallet. I definitely want it in my Nexus as it would require me not to take out my wallet, which would be awesome. I have my phone out of my pocket anyway most of the time so it would make it a lot easier to pay for my tickets and drinks from Duane Reade.

I don't know if you guys caught my previous post with a picture of a coupon that came in the mail today for $50 off an Android phone. Anyways, i just got off the phone with Verizon and the sales rep told me that the discount is good at any Verizon express center and it is eligible to use on the Gnex. He did not have any information on a release date, but did inform me that he received a package today with all of the sales information. For $50 off its worth calling your local express center and seeing if they can provide you with a coupon.

I havent had a chance to read through all of the posts to see if anyone was able to purchased one but I just stopped into a verizon wireless retail store in NJ

Its a new store that I have only noticed within the last month or so during my walk to the train station and it doesnt show up on the verizonwireless page as I was looking for their number yesterday. I just got back from NYC and I thought I would stop by just to ask. I walk in and only one woman was working. I asked her if she was selling the Galaxy Nexus today. She tells me "YES". I nearly fell over but she quickly followed it up that they are a new store and only received a small shipment and they sold out just a short while ago but will be getting a new shipment in next week. IF only I had stopped by before I went to work this morning!!

Just called my local Radio Shack. This is the first person I have spoken to in this town that has acknowledged the existence of this device.

He just now received 2 GN and he put one on hold for me! He said he would call as soon as he heard from VZW or RS Corporate when he could sell it. I offered to pay him for the entire purchase and he laughed and said it wasn't necessary. They open 9a and I told him I would be there when they opened their doors on that day. He laughed again. That's as good as a pre-order to me.

Just got back from Radio Shack. Everything was ready to go unactivated phone with micro sim ... s etc etc. But alas, system wouldnt take the sku so no go. When clerk inquired further found out "wow, we can't even let people see these until we get the ok ..." she thought it was bizarre, but couldnt ring it up and couldnt sell.

Fun little adventure ... not disappointed b/c thats what I expected to happen.

Hey Coach! I'm sure you probably posted it a hundred pages back, but whatever became of your midnight rendezvous?

She sent me a text wed. morning. Said it had been delayed. It was definitely a go for wed night too, the day before I got an email from another rep telling me about the midnight release. SIGH.....the week it could have been!:(

I would have left the cash on the counter and backed slowly out the door, phone in hand ofc.

Decided to call a Radio Shack close to my work as I'm in need of a laugh.

Nice sounding girl answers the phone and I ask if they have any phones in stock:

"Uhh umm uhh we.......Google says it was pushed to next week the 15th...."

I thank her kindly before she hears my laughter. I work in the IT field so many of my co-workers know about this phone and they heard me ask the question and follow up laughing and basically already knew the answer.

Fixed.

For right now, right at this moment, this is a Sprint-only application. Like I said, it is not on any other phone in the US, Nexus or otherwise. You can buy an unlocked, unbranded, Nexus S and you won't be able to use it without rooting and hacking it on there. You can buy the Nexus S direct from Best Buy, in the United States, unlocked, or subsidized on ATT, whichever you prefer, and you won't be getting Google Wallet.

What everyone is expecting is tantamount to someone expecting that you are going to be able to get VZW Navigator on a T-Mobile phone, because T-Mobile doesn't have the authority to block it so you should be able to use it. Wrong.

When Google Wallet came out, Google explicitly stated, this functionality is available on the Nexus S 4G from Sprint. And they left it at that. Nowhere did they say this will work for any other device. Google has also not announced that it will work on the Galaxy Nexus whatsoever.

Yes Sprint Nexus S 4G is the only phone that will do it, but it is not because they have an exclusive partnership, but because they are the only carrier who has an agreement with Google to allow it. Google has stated publically that Wallet is currently only available in the US. That is why the unlocked phones don't have access to it. They also don't have agreements with AT&T and Verizon, which is why the Nexus S on AT&T and the GNex do not currently have it either. If that changes, those phones will get it. There are negotiations ongoing about it. Another thing about it, from what I have read, Google has not released the API to have access to the secure element. So even if Verizon wanted to use Isis on the phone, they wouldn't be able to without Google's help. I wouldn't be surprised if Google is holding it back, unless Verizon agrees to allow Wallet, or pay them out of the Isis revenues. So there is that possibility too.

Also in the friendliest terms, I request you don't modify a quote of mine to prove your point. I feel it is not a fair thing to do in an exchange of ideas. Thanks.
