If the Gwallet / Isis rumors are true it makes me want this phone even more. I wonder if this will be the only Nexus phone on VZW. If VZW doesn't want to deal with a pure google phone with no bloatware again.

This empty TPU case is not doing it for me. I want my GNex!

Ahhh yes, Wawa. Been a while since I've been to one and picked up a meatball sub while incredibly hungover. It does the job.

Sheetz... there were plenty of in Northeast Ohio when I lived there. Somewhere in Pennsylvania is the transition point between the two, haha. In any event I'd take Wawa any day over Sheetz, mostly because I thought most things in and around NE Ohio sucked (no offense to anyone).

Hey All--

Long time lurker on this thread. Just wanted to say hi.

Also was over on the Verge earlier reading their post about Dec 15 being the new date. A comment in their discussion had a link to an online petition to VZ to release the phone. Definitely not something I started, but everyone should go check it out (I can post links yet.

On another note, I have been reading all the ISIS and Google Wallet discussion--I just find it hard to believe this is a delay reason. I'm sure Google could fight it out with Verizon after a release to get the desired results they want. While I don't think this phone is going to sell the amount the iphone sells, I do think that both sides are missing out on sales opportunities if this corporate dispute continues.

Regardless, I'm anxious to get a new phone. My OG Droid is like everyone else's and on its last leg. It is extremely laggy, it always has random mispresses, and I can't use the headphone jack. Essentially it has been reduced to the functionality of a dumbphone because it is so slow and I'm only holding on to my unlimited data. Of course, it has been a great phone to own--built like a tank and it has gotten its share of abuse.

Never heard of Sheetz before. Had to look them up and apparently, they don't have any locations in NJ or the Philly area. So I'll have to default to WaWa on this one.

Unless Sheetz are selling GNex's, of which case I'd hunt a location down.

If they were selling GNex's I'd risk speeding tickets and give everyone a true taste of a Jersey girl on a mission

Unfortunately, I saw the lock coming yesterday, and issued a few calls to tone it down.

When you see some bickering going on, don't get involved. Don't quote any of the messages and don't comment on the situation. Just hit the "Report" button next to the post. You're not going to directly get anyone in trouble, just alert the mods to take a look at what's going on.

And for those who get caught up in a melee, it's easy to both recurse yourself (stop the fighting), and issue a public apology. I promise, the last thing in the world the Mods want to do is issue infractions or worse. A little remorse goes a long way in thier determination of how to proceed.

So, just my thought of the day.

So it's Saturday, looks to be sunny (in NJ at least), and I'm going to get the last of my Christmas shopping done. I doubt we'll see any real GNex news today, but there's always hope.

And from a West Coaster, In and Out is one of the best burgers out here...But in our area we also have Habit Burger....Take the name as you will.....

Come On VZW....My OG Droid is about dead....I can text on it ONLY now, it knows it should have been replaced already, but I would really like the replacement to be the GNex. Will you just release the phone already!!!!

You can't. . I even called google on that. Missing all these 10 cents apps due to delay

One simple solution is to add your google account temporarily (for probably 5 minutes) to a friend's Android device.

When you set it up as an additional account (won't affect their account), turn off all syncing (gmail, calendar etc). Then go into the market, and set it to use the new account for app purchases (use menu key/accounts when in market home screen). Add an app to the phone (doesn't have to be a paid one) and that should correlate that type of Android device with your market account. You should be asked to agree to the market terms and conditions.

You should then be able to remove the account from the Android device, but it will still stay listed as an option when you log into the market from a browser. That should allow you to purchase more apps from the browser, even though you don't really have an Android device currently.

Assuming you can borrow an Android for 5 minutes, this is a simpler way of doing what others have done in the past, which is creating a virtual device using the sdk from google.

I'm not sure if you can buy them without an android phone. I have a droid so it allows me to purchase the compatible ones without installing them. Anyone else have any idea?

I read somewhere that if you download the Android SDK (which includes an emulator) and hack the Market into an emulator image that's set up to emulate a phone capable of running the app, you can tell the web interface to "install" the apps to the emulator, which will at least mark that app as purchased for the future.

I have no idea if this actually works or how one would go about setting it up, but it seems plausible!

Per my understanding, not true.

Both Isis and Google Wallet doesn't have anything to do on the client side. Both will work with any NFC terminal.

I gave this analogy yesterday. It doesn't matter to you if you pay with a Visa or an AMEX. It all works and you get charged the same.

But behind the scenes, Visa and AMEX are fighting for your business because they take a cut of the transaction.

I know that I posted this question last night before the lock down, but wanted to see if I could post it again for the current crew:

I used to delivery newspapers (10 years of it), and the ads that run in the Sunday papers are usually printed a week or so in advance....So does anyone know if we have seen or can find a copy of the Best Buy ad for tomorrow? I am curious to see if the GNex is still listed on the ad???

I went to an In and Out last time I was in California, and yes, it was delicious. But Five Guys still serves the best burger I've ever had, as far as I'm concerned

Uh. So yeah, the other radioshack I called was more honest and said yes, they had one (1!) in stock but they weren't allowed to sell it "for maybe a couple more days".

There is always going to be a next best thing around the corner. This will still be the best Android phone 4-6 months from now. Beyond that - quad cores will likely steal the show.

Oh I wouldn't bet 4-6 months, no way. Is it possible? Yes, but IMO not likely.

Just remember, the hardware as several reviews have stated is good, but not great. That alone is too bad given its status.
