Verizon would be happy if you cave and buy another phone My view is the gnex doesn't make it out during the double data rate promotion i'll cave and just stay with sprint.

My excitement for this phone has been diminishing a little due to all of the delays making it feel like the elusive unicorn that will never arrive. But then I held a display unit at Best Buy today for the first time and my excitement has once again been restored! It is fantastic! The rep said I was the fifth person today who asked about the release. I was saying how ridiculous these delays have become and he said he has noticed such delays often occur with the phones that the most people want. His theory is that the carriers want the phone they think will sell the most to be as bug free as possible upon release. He mentioned such delays with the iPhone and Evo as well. He said with phones like the Rezound and Razr they just push out because they will only have moderate sales and bugs can be handled OTA. Before I left I had to go over one more time to fondle the GNex. Massive eye roll from the girlfriend!

12/9 was 2 days ago. This is a weekend. Did you really expect a release or PR on the weekend? The buzz won't happen until Tuesday if 12/15 is indeed the intended date.

I am curious as to why you are so adamant about this? Did you rent one or just play with it in a store?

I ask because they have sold a bunch of them and the vast majority of comments and reviews are very positive.

The 15th is a rumor, so why would you believe that anymore than the rumor it will be after the 15th. THEY ARE ALL RUMORS.

If I choose to believe what a representative from Verizon tells me, (they are the only entity within Verizon I'll ever talk to) then to me it doesn't get much more legit than that. Some get their info when they read it on the internet.

But I believe that the 15th isn't a rumor because a representative told me that was the next anticipated date she actually dug for it for herself.. Call me naive or whatever, I believed her.

I agree. We probably won't hear more till Monday at the earliest. Weekends have typically been dead spots for info.

lurker here. I finally got to play with an LTE nexus today. It was really nice seeing how fast and smooth it is for myself. The keyboard is awesome, although I don't understand why they made going back and replacing a mis-corrected word so hard (very minor issue). Also this was my first time using LTE and wow is surfing the web fast. Clicking on links instantly starts loading the page and the page then loads super quick. Not sure if other LTE phones are that fast.

it made me excited to use it for myself, but also sad since there is such a great device out there that we aren't allowed to buy yet. It gave me motivation to keep waiting tho

Just personal opinion, but the RAZR looks terrible. They've put huge bezels on the sides to accomodate how skinny it is. The rest of the consumer electronics industry is trying to remove/minimize bezels and MOTO makes their's bigger.... FAIL IMO.

Right now the release of this phone is like a star that is just outside of the Roche-Lobe of a black hole. The star is able to orbit nicely around the black hole without getting sucked up.(We're able to stay optimistic about the release on the 15th) But if the star somehow crosses through that Roche Lobe limit, the matter of that star will start to be swallowed by the accretion disk only to meet an uneventful end after it reaches the Event Horizon, and eventually the singularity where the matter is then crushed.(The phone might as well be scrapped at this point, because by that time Christmas sales are over and new phones will be announced shortly). So lets stay optomistic and wait for the 15th to come and go. As us Koreans say in words of encouragement, Hwaiting!(Actually supposed to be fighting, but the letter F doesn't exist in the Korean alphabet)

I would like to respectfully disagree though. I don't think that any amount of press would have opened the floodgates, based on how quickly word got back to BB and RS to not sell them, and how quickly they followed through with those orders. However, I do think it's possible that if an announcement is not made (or alternatively a date (15th?) to sell is not given to the 3rd party resellers) by early this week, the pressure from BB, RS, etc executives to take advantage of the holiday sales rush may cause them to buck tradition and start selling the phone. I just don't know how much leeway they have, if any, in their contract to be an Verizon authorized reseller, and if that contract is location-specific or applies to all BB and RS stores.

Ps. Just got my diztronic case and I'm really liking it, size, feel, everything... I can't wait to get my Gnex! I never thought I'd have to do this with a corporation, but I'm not above begging so...Please Verizon, take my money in exchange for your merchandise. TIA and yes, the 15th would be okay for me.

I did actually get to play with the Nexus a little as I waited for Best Buy to try and ring up the phone, I can't believe how smooth the browser was. 1st place I visited was this forum, I used to read these forums on the Razr before I was aware of the phandroid app, and I will say that the Nexus handled this site sooo much better than the Razor!! Night and Day difference, maybe one reason for that was because the Nexus doesn't have flash.

I don't think the Rezound even has permanent root yet...so, no it won't.

True enough. I do recall VZW making a press release just after closing time on Friday for us not too long ago - unless measured in number of posts - and controversial phones (Evo 4G) have gotten weekend launches - so it wasn't outside the realm of possibility.

I'll agree and admit that a release yesterday is looking very highly improbable.

I've used a lot of Seido cases, but never tried Incipio so please let us know if you know them.
